Didn’t you end up with a face shot from a loading pin not that long ago?
Nah. That was someone else.
I’m done with the blunt trauma stuff. Moving on to organ failure and other types of damage.
I dropped a safety squat bar on my ankle while doing split squats. That sucked.
I also almost put a monolift through a first floor window.
LMFAO - I remember this one
I remember this, who Da fk was it. Weren’t they doing face pulls off it ? Was it @Irishman92
Wasn’t that @Lonnie123 ? He broke a tooth!
You could be right
If you haven’t hit yourself in the chin on an a press, do you even lift?
I might just start using my rack to bench after this.
I also leave the collars off when alone.
Funny but true story, one of the strongest guys Greg coaches advocates using collars and no safeties to put you in a position where you have no choice but to make the lift. Last I looked his total was around 2100 and he’s in his early 20s so there may be something to what he says.
Maybe because of this? I think after a certain age you start to be more careful with stuff, knowing you won’t get to heal as fast as someone younger anymore lol
My trick is to keep my bench sad and weak enough that the weight won’t kill me if I drop it.
Buying a powerlifting rack with safeties: Expensive
Being piss weak: Free
Wonder when it’s gonna happen…
@MarkKO Kroc expressed a similar sentiment in the stories about breaking in to the college gym to prep for meets. Solo benching in a shirt in a gym when no employees were going to be around for hours: you can either get the lift or die, haha.
In middle school, I saved up my lawn mowing money to buy a crappy bench and barbell. Everyone knows the bench, it’s the one that comes with the leg extension at the end for a “total body workout”. Spent a lot of time learning how to roll a loaded barbell down my body until it got to my legs and I could stand up. Fun times
Decided to just do a random fast today, no problem. Let’s look at the food porn thread at 07:00.
Guys at my gym has perfected this. I see him benching in there everytime I go. Has a pretty impressive bench for his size (I regularly see him benching low to mid 200s for reps, and he’s 6foot2, 150lbs if he’s lucky).
If he fails a rep, which he does fairly regularly, he’ll roll it slightly down his body until it clears the hip crease, then just sit up. He does it so often, and is so quick with it, it almost looks like a gymnastic move at this point.
Everyone here knows a lot of generalizations don’t apply to you cause you’re a cyborg lol
This is an effective method. My ex never lifted but subscribed to this theory in life. You’ll do it, or you’ll die. Simple as that. Damn sure made me tougher. To the point I can’t even remember who I was before that.
Guess maybe I have gotten lazy in my old age, because it no longer sounds that appealing. I can’t handle the thought of my son finding me crushed and having to live with that image for the rest of his life.
The key to being old and wise is actually surviving your young and dumb phase.
