The Flame-Free Confession Thread II

I never said I needed to eat that much. My stomach and my body comp are not on the same page.

Job for free and have a write? Sounds terrible.

I get paid to write which is cool but unfortunately I don’t really get to pick the topic. The CMO probably wouldn’t like a Deep Water review in lieu of advertising copy.

Split the difference and write it in the style of Deep Water.

I’m applying for Scottie Ventures- a selective venture capital club on campus- and one part of the application is a company pitch. Instead of finding a company to pitch, I decided to pitch my dad’s company and basically just translated his pitch ppt

Confession: I’ve been eating a diet comprised entirely of rice crispies, eggs, toast, honey, and whole milk with the occasional banana for the past several months.

I thought the addition of fruit would be a good idea and coulda sworn I got 2 bags of frozen fruit but it appears my eyes played tricks on me.

I’ve got a race tomorrow, and I took my fast-as-fuck dog to the park for off leash sprints. There was another family there and we don’t know the dog quite well enough yet to let him just run up to people (although he’s awesome with my kids and kids have approached us at parks and he’s been sweet), but they were WAY far away and out of sight in another section of the park, while we were on the football field with no one around. So we let him go and for the first time ever he runs right past my wife, and starts looping back to me. The family is behind me up a hill, and just when I think he’s coming to me veers off to the right towards the hill that would put him in eyesight of the family (he gets real worked up around people during walks and it’s tough to tell what’s excitement/anxiety/aggression so if he saw them he’d be right on them). No time to think, he was running full speed at around 20+ mph so I sprinted to the right and got him with a diving tackle mid-stride. He was fine, but only because I braved with my knees and one hand to avoid landing on top of him. Skinned all the skin off my right knee and bruised my hip, and I have to swim open water tomorrow followed by a 5 mile run. Should be fun.

The family left right after that and he got 10 full 100 yard sprints and plenty of love, but I was not a happy camper at first.

Put them in oatmeal!

How bad could that be?

Better than either tuna or chicken, both of which I have eaten in oatmeal.

Tuna and pineapple with sriracha over either oatmeal or rice is awesome, and I’ll fight anybody that disagrees.

Unsweetened oatmeal is just another carb, so yeah, I can see that working

I confess I’ve bout two things of creatine and both have gone bad without me taking any. Why am I scared to take creatine :joy:

Don’t give in to temptation, stay natty!

Fixed.

Come at me 'bro. I’ll be the guy in yoga pants.

No way. Do you know how embarrassing it would be to get your but kicked by a guy in yoga pants?

Is it safe to go swimming with what is effectively an open wound?

Also- that is my worst nightmare with my family dog too, except I know none of us are fast enough to catch up to her.

Confession- I’m actually working to improve my jogging/running because I want to be able to attempt keeping up with the dog.

It’s a scab today. Didn’t open up during my run either. Looked a lot less nasty when I cleaned it up yesterday.

I couldn’t have caught the dog if I had to run alongside him. He had to pass me by and I football tackled him (American football, ya fuckin limeys).

Anyway, I won my category.

And should you win, you kicked a guy’s ass who was wearing yoga pants. Dishonor all around.

I was running the 3 miles in the Marine PFT in just over 18 minutes for a 6ish minute mile pace, and I hold a 1:40ish/100m swim pace for up to a kilometer, so while those aren’t particularly impressive times in either, they’re enough that in the absence of professional triathletes I have a chance to win. I’m not a good biker, that’s what is going to hold me back from being truly competitive.
