The Flame-Free Confession Thread II

You’ll be alright man. If it’s Any consolation I have self harm scars too. The biggest one near my wrist was deathly close to a vein.

I chose to tattoo over mine as a symbol of moving forward and covering them with artwork.

I’m not in a good place myself, so you’re not alone.

I feel you. I was in a very dark place a few months ago, thinking about doing it everyday. I chose alcohol and drugs for a time heh but it went away. Just like your pain eventually or at least some of it, and you’ll come back stronger.

The crime stats have always been interesting to me. Are they really committing more crimes or just being caught more often because they’re being watched more closely based on race.

Or more likely to be in a situation where crime seems like a viable option?

Or a heady mix of all itnthe above?

Nah…anyone who goes into such detail talking about that stuff is either a troll or genuinely a white supremacist. It’s fine if you’re not like…pro-BLM or something, that doesn’t mean you’re racist, but when you go out of your way to quote studies that say whites have higher IQ’s than blacks…that’s kinda the tipping point, haha.

I’d also add in that my mom’s been taking foster care classes, and something they’ve found in recent years is that past trauma can literally alter the DNA of descendants, and can even affect how you respond to stress. Not just for blacks, but any race. Some white trash, trailer park type of white people will probably be altering their grandchildren’s DNA with their meth using and inbreeding (stereotypical joke there) someday, just as well as a slave descendant, black crack user, Native American descendant, etc. What our ancestors went through will affect our brains and how we respond in stressful situations, and affect every single thing from our chances of dying sooner, getting lung diseases, having a miscarriage, etc. Everything’s affected by it.

And yeah…crime rates are a tough one. There’s a lot of options, not a clear cut answer. I know for Natives, any crime commited on a reservation is automatically a federal crime. Getting caught with a couple grams of pot, stealing from a convenience store, getting in a bar fight, almost any crime will result in a harsher punishment and prison time. So if you compare any race to Natives (who are never included in any study, ever lol. Just “other”), Natives may receive more felonies, prison time, etc. because they are literally being judged harsher than anybody else!

Just things like that to consider. It’s all a mess.

By and large, black communities have long been, ESPECIALLY in the 60s, flooded with drugs. The men took the drugs and ended up in jail, the women ended up at home with welfare being a safer survival option with several children and no provider. The revolving door of black men in prison and black women on welfare with no chance to get out had begun.
I work with a 65-year old black man who remembers having to use blacks-only entrances. Think of how many people are alive RIGHT NOW who remember drinking from a blacks-only water fountain? Do you honestly think all those wrongs can right themselves in less than one lifetime?
The question isn’t who commits more crime, it’s, is the perceived violence and lack of intelligence of minorities genetic, or manufactured? Statistics can be, and have been manipulated for a long time.

Wrt Luck retiring,

I immediately thought of Tom Brady being in his 40s, and being certain that Brady would sell his soul to the devil to be 29 again…

It’s called the former GM did zero in making sure they had a good offensive line. Luck took a beating for most of his time here.

He’s set for life financially and he’ll probably become an analyst or coach. I don’t blame him. Being perpetually injured takes its toll on your mind.

I dont blame him at all… He was leading the league for several seasons on sacks or hits on a QB. Most people I knew and myself all figured he would end up breaking down.

I was sorry to hear about Luck. He was great fun to watch, all the way back to Stanford. He did an admirable (if kinda goofy) job handling expectations and the media stepping in after Peyton.

I can’t believe people were booing him last night! I saw some clown on TV actually take off his Luck jersey at the game. I thought that was bullshit, dude deserved a lot better.

Yeah agree… wasn’t his fault. The whole transition from Manning to Luck was completely mismanaged from the start. So as a fan I can hope they have built the team up to be competitive with out a true franchise QB .

Disgusting. Gave them 4 playoff appearances, played with a lacerated kidney, gave EVERYTHING for the sport and they had BACK TO BACK FRANCHISE QBs, both of whom were incredible, and instead of being grateful, they give him that as his last memory on the field. Made 100 million bucks, has a degree from Stanford, and still has a long life to live with his family.

Sometimes, I read a post on here, and reply sooo sarcastic and ugly, pops in my mind I have to ask myself…
What’s wrong with you?

That is my default mode in life. I have to stop and work backwards to have normal conversations.

At the moment … its a shit storm on sports radio up here. Fans are pissed the fuck off! some at Luck some at the organization. Curious to see how many season ticket holders will dump their season tickets.

Your talking about yourself? If so …dont worry, I am a way bigger asshole . I just hold back on here allot.
