Kind of related–lately I’ve been more and more annoyed by people blaming others for their issues. It blows my mind that the majority of people I have around will happily talk for hours and hours and hours about how every little wrong thing with their life is someone else’s fault, or due to unlucky circumstances, or whatever elsewhere, but will refuse to do the slightest introspection and actually ask themselves if they might be part of the problem.
I might err too much on the other side, as the first person I blame for something having gone wrong is myself and as a result I am very hard on myself and hold myself to way high standards. But man, at least I can safely say that I literally don’t remember the last time I said “it’s [insert anyone’s name here]'s fault for [insert random thing that went wrong also because of a negligence of mine]” and I don’t sit there talking about how everyone is secretly conspiring against me in the dark.
Focusing on what other people are doing wrong does NOTHING to help you and only takes away from time that could be spent figuring out how you could be doing your part better.
Rant over. I had to get it off my chest–It’s not my fault.
I think I’m going to gouge my eyes out with a spoon! Ever time some one mentions the phrase should I bulk or cut my soul dies. Here is a concept eat to support progress in the gym the body will adjust accordingly.
Young lad in the gym today was asking me about my bench. He said he was benching X weight but was about to start a cut and was hoping he could maintain his strength. I just had to nod and smile. He looked like he weighed maybe 185lbs, not sure a cut was needed. Wanted to tell him to forget that shite and just train hard, eat and recover.
He then started talking about his squat and how he couldn’t go too heavy because of some hip impingement. It was very hard for me to keep a serious face at this point !!
Me too man! I think EAT WELL is the better option to tell people. Bulking or cutting I learned is really not necessary for most people. Eat well wholesome foods, lift hard, and condition. That will take care of most peoples needs. I think the only thing that matters is the number on the bar. I’ve seen jacked people at 145, 165, 185, 205, 225, etc. I think if you can lift hard you’ll look like someone who lifts lol.
No green chili for me! I wish I could’ve indulged but they don’t excuse you from a failed drug test even if you consumed it legally.
If you’ve read my log then you know what it was from. And sadly, it wasn’t from good beer or brownies.
I’m actually kind of baffled by the weight gain. I ate a good breakfast and dinner Saturday but not much during the day due to the nausea. I “fasted” until about 6pm yesterday to reset my gut. I thought that would help get the weight back down. Guess I did more damage than I thought.
Are you talking a little fluff or stage ready level.a large number in my opinion would be well served with that philosophy excluding those who are packing over 50 lbs of excess fat or again going onto stage.
Besides myself I can think of 3 others guys with a simular prospective.
Haha. Yes sir! I generally just eat clean home cooked food. Not much processed stuff, chips, or fast food. Not afraid at all to splurge on a Quarter Pounder, large fries, and chicken nuggets from McDerps in one sitting once in a blue moon though. Not afraid to open a can of corned beef or spam occasionally either. I just lessen the carbs for a a few days to a couple of weeks when I notice my stomach getting rounded lol
Hmm you may be right but keep in mind for context that I’ve grown sick and tired of fast food in general because when I used to go on duty 30+ hours straight a couple of years back, that’s all we could eat a lot of times. Definitely won’t turn you down if you offer me fries or pizza though… mmmm pizza
