Just had to add. It floors me online some of the guys that are in full mental masturbation mode on this. They seem to be neither large or strong in some case’s.

I popped into the Paul Carter thread and read the last couple of posts. They’re arguing about a squat wedge? A fucking SQUAT WEDGE? I put 2.5kg plates under my heels. I can’t even be bothered to change into my olympic shoes. That looks like the shit my old gym used to have for people to do calf raises in the Smith Machine. And someone had to post a fucking STUDY to justify knees travelling past the toes??? If you’re so anal retentive about squatting, don’t squat. Use the machines. You’re a pussy anyway. Squatting 225lbs isn’t going to change that fact.

Looking atbthe various different people who’ve successfully built muscle over the years it’s hard not to notice there are many ways to do it. I’m sure Paul’s way works, but that thread started to get a bit gospel like to me.

All the big guys I knew in HS and college were not doing 5x5 or 4x8 or 6x3 or anything like that.

They were all literally doing 3x10 of everything. Literally for everything and did it for years and they all got big and strong lol.

Is 3x10 three sets of ten reps or three reps for ten sets?

I think that’s more due to effort and food lol. I remember a LONG time ago in college lifting and only really drinking a protein shake after a workout thinking just working out and having 1 protein shake a day was going to make me big and strong LOL.

3 sets of 10. I know people that read it reps and sets vs sets and reps. I always put the # of sets first.
