I watched the 5 pillars of squat strength videos over the weekend. And they were great. It took 30mins to get through all of them. And I think they were the best squat videos I’ve watched in a long while.
So last night I decided to put some of the info to work. I concentrated on keeping the upper back tight and bracing.
It helped me to a recent PR. By some margin. I was so happy.
Today - not so happy. I’ve spent the day feeling like shit. I’ve been tired, headachy and felt sick since I woke up. I’ve tried EVERYTHING to ease the suffering. But its stuck. Normally I enjoy the kinda feeling of being beaten up by a work out. But today my confession is I almost wish I had stopped a rep early.
Had to ponder that, but yeah I am not a social butterfly and only have a small number of mates I allow into my circle. With the majority those being guys that lift… go figure.
Exactly… he has the mind set that it wasn’t a good session unless he is half destroyed. Plus he freaks out if his weight goes up 5 lbs because of the subconscious fat phobia hes got going on.
More like adviser… He is one of the guys that will ask my opinion on diet or lifting.
Oh he seeks my opinion out on what ever lifting routine hes picked up and I will advise him regarding the flaws in it. BUT he goes deaf when I advise him that he might wants to back off be it on the volume hes using or on the high amount of road work. Like I mentioned hes one of those guys who wants the whole package all at once. It will be interesting too see if he might actually start to listen .
You would think… But what the hell would I know? Not like I have any time under my belt… oh wait! For the record I told him my thoughts and I don’t think he liked it.
That buddy of mine is all wrapped up on on total work volume in a session. Quantity over quality baby!Which I guess is a big thing on certain web site. Not to mention all the miles he logs in a week for the Spartan training.
Finally bit him in the ass.
This was ment as a compliment. Having a big social circle is okay. But you should be able to count your real mates on one or two hands. No more.
There are exceptions to this. But as a general rule this works for me.
Honestly- I wonder how some of you guys don’t get rhabdomyolysis.
I currently think it’s about the level of fitness you possess/trained yourself up to.
T3hPwnisher, for example, runs a sub 8-min mile with a 20lb vest on even though he trains for that sort of thing only one month out of the entire year.
I think he’s a very fit individual. So the amount of training he’d have to go through in a single day (or repeatedly within some short time-frame) to get rhabdomyolysis would probably be extreme.
I get amused when a novice guy wants to go all scientific on here to back their view point. As if the more advanced guys on here have never read a book in their life.
