It’s basically tomatoes, vinegar and fruity stuff I think. It’s brown.

That’s not a taste test I’m willing to subject myself to, but Its probably comparable.

It’s what @mattjp describes, although that doesn’t quite capture the awfulness of it.

I prefer brown sauce over tomato sauce, especially with bacon.

When fruit andtomatoes go brown, they’re rotten. I guess the vinegar’s there to kill the germs?
Of course, two of my favorite delicacies are basically moldy tofu and eggs preserved in calking lime, so I guess I don’t have the right to talk shit about this mysterious brown sauce

This is objectively correct.

Chòudòufu was one hell of an experience for me I can say that much. I can see how it would be good once you’re used to it, though. I’m pretty into pungent flavour experiences.

@mattjp @yorkshireiron @kd13. Respectfully, your taste buds are lying to you. Brown sauce is not a reasonable substitute for ketchup in the same way that cheese and onion is not a reasonable substitute for salt and vinegar.

You’re bang on about cheese and onion. Fraud of a crisp flavour.

Ketchup is basically just sugar with zero flavour. I only ever have it at the chipper. Goes without saying salt & vinegar is the GOAT crisp flavour.

We should stop now though before Colucci quarantines us to a British Cuisine thread.

Those kegs keep is incredibly hot. Mainly because Nebraska is like Hell with good food.
