The Flame-Free Confession Thread II

I don’t know about anyone else. But once a posters contradicts themselves let’s say in another post or make claims that raises my eyebrow. Or makes me go hmmm I tend to be done.

I been at it on and off long enough that I get a good laugh at all the debate on line. Since most of the productive shit has been around longer then the yahoos making the arguments.

Coach 1: I recommend 1g protein/lb.

Coach 2: I recommend 2g protein/lb.

Coach 1: I followed Coach 2’s advice and got to 250 naturally!

Bystander: What’s the deal?

Coach 1: Obvious answer - this is such a dumb question that after responding to 1,000 posts about nattys vs gear, it doesn’t even merit a response.

@kd13 he’s kind of a diva sometimes, especially given that 99% of what he’s been saying regarding was coming right out of Dante’s mouth years ago.

I like Paul and I really like his AVT method 1 in the Super Soldier Protocol (it make perfect sense to me), but I think he’s an example of what happens when you spend too much time responding to random people on the internet. I think dealing with people day in and day out on social media, probably 90% of which are fucking retarded, just drains you of your patience.

It’s why I’ve stopped posting in PWI (I have the whole damn sub-forum hidden) and Twitter and I avoid the comment section on FB and Instagram. An honest discussion / debate where people are rational, logical, and will challenge their preconceived ideas is a rare thing on the internet. I think a forum like this is better than say FB where that shit doesn’t exist at all, but it’s still not a great place for a real debate.

The internet is more a battlefield than a debate forum.

I work with a guy who is 6’+ and looks like a spartan god, I’m talking JACKED. He refuses to use more than 225 on any lift. He also runs marathons… strange jacked guy.

If one were so inclined, you could easily make a VERY effective program with that limitation. I’ve done stuff like that in hotels and on cruises. Just requires creative employment of ramping sets, pre-exhaust, stripsets, etc etc. And it will suck hardcore, of course.

Really, putting more weight on the bar is almost cheating as far as progression goes. One of the easiest ways to accomplish that end. Without that option, all the other choices are awful.

I think the problem arises when you have people of different experience levels come into conflict.

Are you saying Vince gironda knew a thing or two about getting big and strong?

He has a standing invitation for anyone who wants to come workout with him. He has one routine he does with just an empty bar, I don’t know of anyone who has finished it with him lol

I STILL want to try his steak and eggs diet. It’s on the list. I just have to be away from my family for a bit, haha.

For sure. Different experience, different ideologies, etc… It’s like Carnivore vs. Keto vs. vegan vs. whatever. No one’s budging from their position. I learned that the hard way through years of anti-vax, anti-capitalism, etc… “conversations” in PWI.

This gets my vote for quote of the day!

Thing I have noticed is that really experienced guys will agree to disagree. But it might be a maturity thing.

The CCP version of the shit that’s going down in HK right now is pissing me off so much, I might just hunt down any online socialist wannabe and ram my fist up his ass.

I’ve never understood anti-capitalism. I get it if you think the balance of wealth has become too imbalanced. I think that’s an interesting debate, but how in the world do you think socialism* (which we both know most people can’t define accurately) is better? It fucking boggles my mind.

*Obviously, if you’re a worthless human being you prefer socialism, but for the vast vast vast majority of people capitalism is a much better system, flaws as it is.

The best solution is, and always will be, the social contract proposed by Hobbes in “Leviathan”.

And anyone who says “Rousseau” is just a hippie.

I’m vaguely interested in History and Economics, so it’s interesting to think about what’s after Capitalism.

Totally, where we go once AI & automation take over even 50% of labor is a really interesting and some what terrifying topic. Logically, redistribution of wealth is inevitable.

Look at the CCP’s narrative of current events. It’s the same thing Venezuela pulled off. Dumb people ouside of these countries read it and think they’ve uncovered the “truth” the evil capitalists are trying to hide. Then they go further down the rabbit hole of Marxism.

I’ll have to google it. I’m not familiar.
