Our boy used to have his morning feed at 6am and then sleep again until 8am, which although it sucked training in the morning at least it guaranteed me a guilt free couple of hours while my wife and baby slept.
I confess that I still remember when calisthenics meant push ups and sit ups, and as a result I get confused when people are curious about how they can possibly work calisthenics into a weight training program.

Mine are older and I can predict when they will sleep but it’s usually at the end of a day involving trying to explain to them for the 50th time why they can’t chase the dog around with a broom until it’s cornered then start pulling on it’s tail*. Then dealing with the explosion that happens after taking the broom off them.
Having to spend close to an hour getting a tiny bit of food into them and a lot of food everywhere else.
Then there’s the running around. The non stop chasing, climbing whatever other acrobatics they decide is fun. It’s non stop, literally non stop. How these fuckers dont get tired until they crash and burn is beyond me. I suppose you could just not get involved but they friggin peer pressure you lol
My little guys also did me the pleasure of dropping any day time naps before 2.
Sometimes people ask me how I can have the will to train in the morning but honestly, I could not muster up any level of energy or motivation to train in the evening. I have no idea how others manage to.

I had a girl first and she’s way more mellow than boys. My boy doesn’t know any better so he’s kind of chill too. His favorite thing to do is push an airplane back and forth like he’s pushing a prowler. I’m tempted to start adding weight.
I’m trying to lose weight so I track my food every day. I had 400 calories left after dinner tonight. I’m hungry but my wife brought home some beer. I had to choose between eating or drinking beer. I can’t do both. I chose beer.
I think I made the right decision.
I like that when people talk about tracking apps and falling short on macros or calories they will suggest eating rice cakes or chicken or carrying it over into the next day or twhat not.
If I am short on macros/calories then let me tell you… it is on. If I met my protein needs and there is fats and carbs left over, then the party begins lol
Yes! I actually broke my plateau by eating more a few weeks ago. I’d been considering those leftover calories a bonus. I think I actually slowed my metabolism down with that approach.
I started eating all of my calories and finished my days with a bowl of oatmeal as an evening snack. Carbs before bed isn’t such a bad thing.
