To be fair, there isn’t anything particular essential about those food items except for the calories and protein. A replacement using sufficient calories and protein is perfectly acceptable… but I very much doubt people are replacing it that way.

Swapping movements and movement patterns is much different than eating eggs versus chicken thighs

If you wanna be really literal there are crossovers between his favoured chord and key usage and early blues… which became jazz.

I don’t believe there is anything essential about it: I just feel that eating is prescribed is just as much part of the program. It’s about experiencing it as a whole.

Getting through the gallon of milk a day with Super Squats taught me just as much about nutritional obsession and intensity as the squatting taught me about the physical.

I always figured Jim just got sick of people complaining they couldn’t gain muscle because they were hardgainers with fast metabolisms, and the result was “just fuck off and eat 1.5lbs of beef and 12 eggs every day.”

From what he’s written, it’s actually a protocol he used and had some of his athletes do. But it also operates under the similar premise. “Try being a hardgainer with this diet”

That’s my understanding of it too. If a person is already eating enough to gain the weight the diet prescription doesn’t matter at all, whereas the training parameters are obviously paramount.

I suppose we just disagree on the matter then, haha.

Normally that would be the case. But I feel most hard gainers overestimate what they eat without a established criteria to base it off of.

I confess I am posting this purely to brag.

I hit a lifetime strict press PR last night with 9x201lbs.

I wore my sweet Dungeons and Dragons shirt for the boost to strength. But I’m also excited because, as @strongmanvinny2 pointed out to me, I had bested Kroc by 1 rep.

Using some MMAth, this means I should be good for a 700lb shirted bench.

One week out from son’s meet. Due to the sudden break down on his squat form . We made the mutual decision it would be in his best interest just to do push pull.

Nope … Which is the kicker at least I now know the issue is and like In most cases it’s simple . He is not bracing properly under heavy load. Too late to address it now.
