EP Nice fucking Butt. Wish the one I caught on Saturday was that big. Mine was only a barley legal five pounder. Felt bad killing him but he tasted great.

Wow, must be nice to go fishing on your coffee break. I’d do the same thing if there were a body of water near my office.

The young ones really do taste better…
The fish in my pic is on the smallish side for what we typically caught up in Alaska. 200 pounders that bend gaffs with ease are common up there. One big boy that we caught had to be dragged behind a zodiac onto a beach where I smashed it’s head with a boulder. There’s video footage of that somewhere, I gotta dig it up.
I worked on a small cruise ship. After I’d fillet the fish, the meat was taken to the galley and we’d have fish and chips an hour later!!

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!!
We’re just getting through ice out. The sea run browns and striped bass should be in soon…
Damn Dickbag way to keep this thing going. My schedule is still preventing me from getting out there much but in the next few weeks I should start posting some pics.
Latest fish recipe:
toward bottom.
There’s a cod recipe a few above.
I can’t believe I just found this thread. I fished a bass tourney this past weekend. Came in third (no money for third) but I did get lunker largemouth ($175). Missed first by 1.2 pounds. Going to the gulf stream for grouper and snapper next week. I’ll take some pics.
If anyone here hasen’t tried this you should…Perch or Pickeral or Whitefish any will do,fillet them up into small bite size pieces and sprinkle cayenne pepper on them and wrap them in strips bacon, then get a piece of uncooked spaghetti to keep the bacon in place(instead of a toothpick) and grill on a BBQ…Thats it.The noodle sounds kinda strange but this way you just pop it in yer mouth and eat…The bacon wrap works with cubes of venison too.I like life at the top of the food chain:)
im into salmon fishing, its my favorite, i use many diffrent lures, but this weekend it was all orange spoons, i cought probably 16 on my double orange crush and a couple other oranges. i also caught about 5 on a spin doctor and a blue sparkle fly. i troll also

I love fishing, but I’m sorry DB that is what we in MN call a “snake” long an lean, fights like hell but a worthless young guy none the less. The state record here is a 45 lb northern pike, a 54 lb muskie and I can’t remember the exact poundage but the new record for tiger muskie was set at a metro area lake a few years ago, (I think it was calhoun). A Tiger is a cross between a northern and muskie.

Same lingo here.
I’ve gone trout fishing about 5 times in my life, 2 hours at a time, and have never caught anything. I love in a Western Virginia and trout fishing is huge here. I’ve about given up on it. Anyone got any tips? I usually use Joe Flies or worms but those aren’t getting it done.

I fish for rainbow every spring and fall here in Ontario. We use spawn bags/roe bags(same thing) mostly here, works the best…sometimes we put a few styrofoam floater eggs in the bag to change it up.Use just enough weight on your line to keep it bouncing of the bottom .Gotta catch a female first though. As far as lures go can’t go wrong with flatfish, little cleo’s,sometimes a mepps…steelhead are my favorite fish to catch by far.Hope this helps.PM me for more info if you want.

I think he means that pike is fucking tiny and not worth showing off.I’ve seen muskie lures that were almost that size lol…still I would be happy catching it.We have gar pike where I live and one that size puts up one hell of a fight.

Cool thread: Pic of fish my son caught two years ago.

Same day

The entire family gets into it.

An olive wooley bugger in a nice slow moving pool that trout are holding and feeding in.
If that doesn’t do it, then the fish just don’t like you.
Also, 2 hours isn’t nearly enough time. Sometimes it takes that long just to find a good spot.

well i think it is worth posting. We disagree. But remember, this isn’t a thread about trophy fish. I hope you know that. Its a thread about fishing. So think about that next time before you and the other guy come with the hardcore, as if all you catch are brutes.
Comparing my pike to a 45 pound state record in the other post was laughable. germany produced a 52 pounder, does that make the 45 pounder worthless? No. does the 45 pounder make the 30 pounder worthless? no. and so on. all the way down to the small ones. they are all good.
Ive caught small AND large pike, so how come i dont think the same as you two when it comes to smaller pike?
Think about that.[/quote]
I did think about that…did you not see where I wrote I would be happy catching it?..I’m sorry if I came off sounding like a jerk, that was not my intention.Don’t you and your buddies give each other a hard time about the size of the fish you catch? Don’t get yer irish panties in a bunch dude…it was meant as a joke fer fuck sakes.
