Has anyone ever gone snagging for salmon?
It’s evil fun! I did some up in Alaska, it’s so easy it’s stupid.
You just cast out with a weighted quad hook and yank back while you reel in.
You get your limit in about 30 minutes.
What do you mean by snagging… like trolling at the bottom ?..

Crazy fishing story!! Totally not BS, waiting on the pictures. Fishing a small pond today, buddy lands a 2-3lb large mouth, nice fish. He lips it, I’m watching when out of no where 2 fish jump out of the water into the boat, one landed under my seat and I got it (picture tomorrow) the other skidded off the trolling motor back in the drink. I’m not gonna lie, it scared the shit out me, I literally thought it was a gator, even though there are no gators in Missouri.
Also caught a couple 5lbers today, man do I love that freaking pond.
Excellant. That is luck. And dont be worryin about getting scared, I get the shit scared out of me everytime a pike swirls right infront of me taking the lure just as im about to take it out of the water.
Sometimes i let a yelp
I love when a big bass swats at a top water lure, makes me jump every time, that’s a freaking rush.
Never caught a pike but I’m going with my uncles next summer to Canada to fish for pike, can’t wait!

never got the chance to go for any walleye or pike…but i’m more of a saltwater guy anyways…54 lb cobia
This isn’t the fisting thread

NICE!!!
A friend of mine caught this today…4 lbs, 18" long largemouth bass. I caught a buzz lol. Oh well, it was a great day out. Shorts and a t-shirt in april is crazy here. The water temp is still very cold and this fish didn’t put up much of a fuss. Not to bad for a gravel pit.

That is a beautiful fish.

Its one of the better pics that I’ve taken. Unfortunatly I dont have too many trout pics.
I’m not sure whats better in your fish pic, the bass or your buddies beard.
My husband and I want to go fishing in Florida early May. I was thinking Tampa Bay, but I honestly don’t know if the fishing is good there, I just found a cheap place to stay that looked nice. Anyone have any suggestions? We would also like to do a deep sea excursion. My ‘to do list’ includes catching a marlin.
Criteria is basic- great fishing, warm weather, clean place to stay.

Can’t comment on ocean fishing but Lake Okeechobee is a world class bass lake, they pull 7+lbers out of there almost daily. One of these days I’ll get there.
Thanks dday. I’m going to look into that right now.

Beautiful. May I suggest grilled, then topped with dill mustard?
SteelyD. I’m always looking out for a recipe for trout. At the camp I go to my buddie usually cooks the tried and true rainbow wrapped in tinfoil with garlic, onion. Good, but you know…meh.
This dill mustard sounds delicious. Mustard on fish would never occur to me. Do you chop up the dill fresh? Do you have a slam dunk recipe for rainbow I could steal of you please and thankyou.
Sorry for late reply. Here’s a Ginger-Dill-Mustard Salmon recipe I did with a local made mustard (although any half decent brand should do):
This will translate nicely to trout and pike.

Thanks Bud. I am going to check out that whole thread later. Why is that not a stickie?
I’m off to build a homemade prowler out of some scrap steel.

Yeah, you are. Where did you get that?! I’m across the river from you, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, and have been fishing the streams since opening day, doing well but . . . damn nice fish that makes mine look like bait!

Five o’ diamonds and the ones in these pics as well. Red and white red devils have worked forever here.

This might help too. You know what your doing bud, trust your instincts and good luck!
Do you do the figure eight at the side of the boat with your rod tip under the surface? I’ve heard that works well and also gives you a heart attack lol.
