The End of Women’s Powerlifting?

Is South Dakota that bad? Sucks you had to go through that dude.

Hell yeah! That’s exactly what I do, too!

Yeah.
I mean, fuck. Maybe the old timer was a racist. Or maybe he was 77. Maybe he saw a rap video. Or maybe he was just angry and he said “nigger” the same way he would have said “dumb fucking Polack” or “stupid dago” or “fat piece of shit”. Wouldn’t mean they hate Poles or Italians or are “fat phobic”.

People act like that when they’re angry. Certainly didn’t deserve to die over a word. I would be pretty unsatisfied with the house arrest sentence if it were my grandfather. Hell I’m pretty unsatisfied as it is.

I know tlgains is just a dumb kid but still…

Yes…still surprising to see someone say that incident makes him happy.

I am assuming they mean from a clothed everyday public appearance. There are some trans women who can pull it off pretty well. Like you wouldn’t know if you matched on a dating app and went out and they didn’t bring it up. For me (a straight man), that date ends if I get surprised by a penis.

Yes but at what cost? I bet if you hinder puberty you hinder brain development in a major way. So yeah, the transition was easier but now (for example) you permanently have the brain of a 14 year old.

The science hasn’t determined these negative effects yet or if they have the media is suppressing the data.

What? No. I can vote, have been accepted into and attended colleges, and have never been turned down from a job due to race. The religion thing is fairly recent - my tribe’s spiritual practices were illegal until 1978, but I can freely practice them now. Things like that are why I tend to not let the US government completely off the hook for things they did in the past, as these things were not done during the 1700s, but during the lifetimes of many posters on this site, and are only gone due to some serious legal and social activism and pushback. Anyway, getting off topic.

That’s what I mean by “real racism.” It wasn’t at all the main point I’d wanted you to address. That’s below:

Which you have yet to fully answer. You’ve so far only thrown out new situations and what-if’s.

Are you able to give a firm answer: yes or no, do you, absent consequences, believe violence/death is the solution for hateful people? Cause your words suggest you believe “yes.”

And, second question, which I’ve also asked before and am merely curious about your own views - are you not taking the teachings of Christ into account when it comes to this issue? I only ask because you have stated outright before that you are a Christian, or at times said you think you are one, and I wonder how you think your views on racists and your views on religion mesh.

The better to vote progressively with, my dear.

Damn… some 90% of my generation in Aus must be transphobic

What if I want a long term partner… can a trans woman have kids (granted I pribably can’t have kids)? Who are you to call me discriminatory because I won’t have sex with someone who is biologically male

Do you see the hypocrisy here? You can’t discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation, but i’m a bigot because I don’t want to be in a queer relationship?

Discrimination is acceptable so long as we are scrutinising heteronormative ideals of which the vast majority of the population categorically align with…

Note i’m not using the word queer in a derogatory manner. A relationship with a trans MTF individual defies heterosexual norms. It is not a heterosexual relationship.

You are bordering on alt-left territory here. Alt left and alt right ideology tend to be steeped in logical inconsistencies and conspiracy theories. They prioritise fact over feelings.

I kissed a dude once (think first base)… I found the entire ordeal to be repulsive. Why should I be forced to do the same thing again or else be called a bigot?

I’m not into guys… I don’t want to be physically intimate with men. I like WOMEN… with OVARIES!!!

Is the trans womans genetic makeup and bone structure female? Why should I suddenly be comfortable getting intimate with someone who is biologically male if I’m not comfortable getting with men to begin with?

Transphobic would indicate i’m in favour of say… banning these individuals from the workforce, not allowing these people to go out in public, banning HRT for this demographic, banning sex reassignment procedures (i’m only ok with it under the framework countries like Aus have imposed).

I don’t want to make someones life more difficult because they are trans, I don’t want to hurt trans people. Quite frankly, it’s not something that I think about during my day to day routine.

I do however feel sorry for this demographic as gender dysphoria equates to a LOT of mental anguish and suffering.

You need to lighten up and stop worrying about fringe issues like this. Be more worried about sociopolitical instability… and you are a part of this

People who tout radical ideology are deepening the divide between the mainstream left and right.

Be worried about geopolitical affairs. China is an emerging superpower… that’s a scary thought…

Imagine the western world collapses into chaos and all out civil war over stupid shit like trans bathrooms while China focuses on creating a sustainable form of economically friendly fuel while pouring money into millitarisation campaigns… far out… if that happens I’d argue we deserve what we get…

Thank god Australia doesn’t have this… left is centre left with an authoritarian slant and right is centre right with an authoritarian slant. Little divide there… the mainstream left/right parties are so close to one another in policy it’s legitimately hard to distinguish one from the other.

I’ve known enough queer people over the decades to know that some people are just wired that way. Gays, lesbians, bisexuals and even transsexuals have always been a part of society

Which is why beliefs such as “gays reproduce by molestation” confuse the hell out of me. Seriously, how would that even work lol?

Being bi, there are some transgirls I’m into, but when I look at them, my monkey brain immediately says “male.” Telling a straight guy like yourself to be okay with screwing a transgirl is like telling a gay guy to sleep with a cis woman. It doesn’t matter how much you try to make the cis woman look masculine; the gay guy is going to have a miserable time sleeping with her at best. At worst, it’ll feel like a repulsive and semi-traumatic experience for him.

Honestly, I hate that it’s considered a matter of “preference” when straight guys refuse to sleep with transwomen. Me liking tall girls versus short girls is a preference since I’m okay with either. A straight guy can’t make himself enjoy a transwoman no matter how much he tries. It’s like it triggers a built-in digust mechanism which is competely genetic. However, for the hilariousness of it, I would love to see a “straight conversion camp” about this

Yeah. You can change the cosmetic/aesthetic stuff but you can’t change things like male/female scent. Perfume doesn’t cover it up, and once within close personal distance theres no fooling the old lizard brain.

Edited: for that familiar homestyle flavor.

Calling a man transphobic for refusing to date another man that is now a “woman” is easily one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard.

Welcome to 2023. A product of a pandemic that shutdown everything and gave people time to think about stupid crap instead of solving real problems.

Maybe being called “transphobic” is a complement.

I feel like this has been going on longer than COVID, though. Definitely made worse by it, but I think it’s a consequence of social media.

I’m not even that old and the cultural changes of the last 10-15 years have been wild to me. The 90s / early 00’s were like the wild west compared to now. I can’t even imagine being 60+.

Case and point: this is from the 3rd post I saw on Twitter this morning

“There are no princesses. Little Girls are also kinky.”

Possibly, it does seem like we are living through a time were being normal is frowned upon.

It can’t be done. The word “queer” has been sanctified by the LGBTQ community.
