The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Out Now

Finally bought it. Will try to catch up on thread.

I’m afraid most of my personal relationships with humans will come to a halt for a brief while.

x2, just started playing yesterday for a couple hours. i like it better than oblivion so far… unfortunately its new years weekend so i have to go out and have normal fun time :/. maybe next weekend

x3. After hearing so much about it I’m now 35% downloaded. I haven’t told my woman yet. Only hope she’s so busy playing Zelda and DDO that she doesn’t notice.

WTF? Sounds like the only problem you would have with your GF finding out is she would kick you off the PC to play it herself.

(awsome problem is awsome?)

Im so late to the skyrim party its not even funny, i usually hate rpg’s except fable but after seeing this video i was sold

i made a nord for the unarmed combat boost but got bored quickly because i didnt really know what i was doing. but im having a blast slaying everything with my two hand sword & heavy armor only magic im using is to heal myself. any tips for guys that just like to run around and melee everything?

rofl im buying the game tomorrow just based on this vid

o and does anyone else play mostly in third person? i only use first person for sneeking

Bought this for myself as a Christmas present and have been playing a few days straight. Around level 32 now. I made a big Nord chap and he alternates between 2-hander swords and sniping with a bow. I always love sniping in gun games but it’s damned good fun in Elder Scrolls games sneaking around and firing an arrow into someone’s head. Glad that hasn’t changed since Oblivion.

Observations so far: tone is much darker than Oblivion. Sure, Oblivion had its apocalyptic moments but there’s some depressing stuff going on in Skyrim. Also, interface and character development has been simplified (read: consolised) since Oblivion - not sure I care for that. Things like swapping weapons is much more of a pain now. And finally, game is prone to lock-ups. Got the same thing from previous Bethesda titles so obviously nothing new there, but a pain in the arse nonetheless. I can live with that, though.

Apparently Link’s corpse is somewhere around in Skyrim, as an Easter Egg.

And she’ll notice - she’ll probably want to play too.

Although I’ve moved onto Batman now, sometimes I still want to play Skyrim… just trying a different play style. Besides a couple of bugged quests, it was a great game. 10/10.

Holy shit. Has it been four days already? Oo

Well…upon seeing me passing the elven character building screen she decided she wanted to play it as well so downloaded it on her laptop and spent 2 hours just building her character. Then suddenly it’s Wednesday…

what an immersive game!

Ahaha welcome back to the RL. I hope you guys don’t have pets to feed… or kids. :open_mouth:

But I agree on the character building… I’m way too fucking OCD with that kinda shit. Too much customisation and I go nuts.

We have cats but there’s no way of ignoring them when they’re hungry!

What I’ve noticed by playing side by side with her is how different our games are. I’ve gone the Khajiit assassin type character and she’s gone a more generalised magic, sword and board, type character and combat wise they’re absolutely miles apart. She Leroys’s everywhere while I stealth my way through places ignoring/killing at whim.

Also…at about 20 hours in we were still remarking at how different our exploratory choices were. She was doing storylines I hadn’t seen yet and vice versa.

Fantastic game it has to be said. Quite a few times I said “ah I think I’ll give the questing a pause and level up my smithing” so off I’d go to hunt down some deer.

2 hours later I’d come back with giant’s toes and dragon bones and it was like I’d never left!! Great stuff.

That would actually be quite interesting to partake in. Side-by-side immersive gaming. I need to fix my PC or download a mac version. Haven’t Skyrim’ed in 2 weeks!

It’s a bit unusual for us as we usually play the same games coop or MMO-wise. :stuck_out_tongue:

2 weeks?!! Get to eet!!

Can’t believe i missed this thread! I’m level 43 killed 26 dragons so far. Saved this one town from a dragon then killed a chicken (as you do) then the whole fucking town is after me, WTF!! And that horse shadowmere is proving to be a pain in the arse(ass) everytime you fast travel in sneak mode the fucker turns up and blows your cover! So i had to put him down, didn’t have the heart to shoot him myself so i jumped off the bridge at Windhelm, he died i lived. Happy hunting people.

One shot the bastards with my sneaky character (lvl 41) of beat them down with my melee guy (lvl 32). They have nothing on fucking high level mages cunts.

Sneak attacks with 30x damamage rock, I love the slit the neck cinemation effect. One thing that still makes me laugh my socks off, is using the dragon voice “Ultimate Force” you can launch people off mountains
Got to hand it to the developers, they didn’t rush this one out, took their time, made it huge and bloddy good. There will be a big void once i finished this. Maybe i’ll go to the gym
