The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Out Now

Maybe someone can help me out…because I have no idea what is going on.

After few restarts, I finally found what I want to play, so I started a Redguard Thief. All is going great, but suddenly, I can’t equip anything on my right hand. I can’t dual wield weapons and when I’m wielding just one, it goes to the left arm and when I try to block, the character punches.
I can equip a bow normally.

I’ve tried removing all spells and weapons from favourites, dropping all weapons and trying again, etc.

Any idea what is this?

You broke your right arm picking butterflies 'cause you rolled a pansy thief instead of a warrior?

I’m stumped though, that sounds like a wierd bug.

I always end playing sneaky characters in RPGs.
I especially liked sneaking around in those ruined buildings in Fallout 3.

I’ve been reading around and there are some bugs with dual wield and favourite weapons. I’ll check at home if I can fix it somehow.

I have never done a sneaking character until this game and it is fun.

Something rewarding about shooting a dredge and having him stare blankly around the room because he can’t find where the arrow came from.

It took me one reload to do it but I also killed a dragon by patiently waiting for the bar to go “hidden” then shooting him with poisoned arrows.

On the down side I have zero perks in my armor tree so if they do find me I and f*cked.

I’ve managed to ruin few good sneaky shots because I hit the object (wall, rock, etc.) behind what I’m hiding. I’m such a Robin Hood…

I managed to fix the bug by equiping the weapon pressing enter or E. It’s a known bug.

So I’m at level 35 with a sneaky Khajit, my second character and loving it. Sneak > Warrior. Has anyone had troubles with glitches on the Forsworn Conspiracy quest and Mind of Madness.

EDIT: Mind of Madness is fine I was just being an idiot. The other is still glitched.

LMAO!

The comments on this one slay me.

The disappointing thing about sneaking to me is how useless backstab seems to be. The only enemies(even with very high sneak, 80+) I can actually get to melee range on while staying hidden are sleeping ones, even if it’s a dark room. If I’d have known it would turn out like that I’d have gone the archery route so much earlier.

Also it sucks when a ‘boss’ fight starts through a conversation or other kind of event and you never get to be hidden, basically playing as a gimped character in those situations.

is your sneak perk high? Muffled movement? Sneak +% boots?
You could also be making too much noise. I can literally sneak in front of some one and not be seen.

Are you wearing heavy armor?

I have my “sneak” perk tree maxed out and I slit throats all the time. Even if it doesn’t go to the scene where it shows you doing it you still get 15 times damage.

The “shadow warrior” perk has got to be my favorite perk. If you think the enemy will find you stand up and run back 10 feet then squat down again and you turn invisible for a couple seconds. I use that against every dragon/boss and they never seem to know where I am.

Also, don’t take Lydia or anyone else with you. They give your position away. Took me awhile to figure out I was more effective at taking people down one by one rather then getting splash damage from Lydia’s dumb-ass.

Speaking of labyrinthian, has anyone done the maze labyrinth located there. It seems i have picked up a book about it from some bandit camp or w/e.[/quote]

I have. The maze is pretty simple…easy to navigate from what I remember. There’s a Dragon wall behind the maze in the back of the room that the maze is in. Once you finish the maze you get a special guest that has some good lot on 'em.

No I’m wearing all Scale Armor(it says it’s light at least), I don’t have shadow warrior yet, but I do have all the way up to the running/walking don’t effect sound perk.

TBH it’s not that big a deal anyway, I think I prefer the sneak bow attacks more in most situations because there’s rarely 1 target, and using the bow allows you to stay hidden and tear through entire rooms of people.

I have a redguard warrior type but I primarily use a bow. It is a daedric bow with double enchantment of soul absorbtion and causes 31 pts of flame damage when it hits. Since my sneak is 90 and I have the triple damage bonus, I rarely have an issue with anything in the game. It makes me feel like a medieval sniper.

Have you maxed (5/5) the basic sneak perk? That gives you a plus 80%. Something sounds off here. Are you using spells that cast light while trying to sneak?

Also:

SPOILER
Dark Brotherhood quest line gives you gloves that double back stab. So its not 15 X, it is 30 x. A potion of invisibility plus a 30x attack and I pretty much stroll up on the dungeon bosses.
END SPOILER.

Robert A

If you have enough perks in sneak and archery along with an enchanted daedric bow… you can kill a giant with one arrow. You can also load it up with poison if you don’t think one arrow will kill one.

Does the arrow you use matter a lot? If you max out smiting and have a bow that hits for 99 damage plus you enchant it to hit for 24 frost damage does the difference between a glass arrow and ebony arrow even matter?

I have been wondering this for awhile…

From a purely subjective standard yes, it does.

Then again, if you are really good with bows you can shoot them so fast that it hardly makes a difference whether they take 2 or 4 arrows.

Then again I am storming in right now with a war hammer, screaming some chibberish about death and honor but I was an expert archer once…

But then you took an arrow to the knee, right?

How dare you.

No arrow has touched my knee so far.

Then again, sometimes I do look like a porcupine , so, who knows?
