The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Out Now

Anyone collected all 24 stones of Barenziah?

No idea if it will be worth the effort, I’ve found 7 so far just wondering around and doing side-missions.

are those the “unusual gems”?

If so I have about 8 or 9 just from side missions and raiding all the Jarl’s bedrooms/palaces

Yeah, those are the ones. Vex at the thieves guild says she will have a use for them but you need all 24.

I haven’t gone into the thieves guild yet … Want to (since my sneak is at 83) but just haven’t gotten around to it

Go to Labyrinthian and find the wooden mask. It will send you to a shrine where you will put all the masks in their slots.

I don’t have all the masks, but i was wondering what that wooden one was for. Speaking of labyrinthian, has anyone done the maze labyrinth located there. It seems i have picked up a book about it from some bandit camp or w/e.

How the hell are you supposed to find all 24? I’m level 38 and I only have 4. I tried clicking the quest but it doesn’t show you where they are.

I’ve found most of mine in Jarl’s bedrooms just snooping around and stealing shit … I believe you find most of them during Thief Guild quests

My thieves guild quest is broken. There’s one mission where you’re supposed to follow an argonian around Solitude. I followed him to the warehouse on the docks and he glitched through the ground. I can’t find him anywhere. The quest arrow says he is outside Solitude, when I go there it tells me to go inside Solitude, when I go inside Solitude the arrow tells me to go back outside. Sucks.

SPOILERS:

I know I found one in the Companions guild master room and another on the ship where you kill the emperor for the Dark Brotherhood. I can’t remember the other 2. The quest reward must be badass if they expect you to find all of them without any quest markers to guide you.

Yeah, I would like to know how much or what I’ll get from that. Still have to John the theives guild.

Ok, I think this is a known bug. We might be able to work around it.

The time honored WTF Bethesda glitch method is to wait 48 game hours, this often lets the AI put all the NPC’s in the right place. It is the WTF Bethesda? version of shutting a router off, counting to thirty, and then turning it back on.
SPOILERS

Now the quest you are talking about may not be broken. The Argonian goes into the warehouse by the docks and you have to follow him through it at a safe distance. You can sneak or just kill guards. He makes his way across the warehouse and is supposed to go down some stairs, cross underwater, pop up to do some shit in a dock foreman’s office, and then take a stroll up a ramp into “BrineWater Grotto”.

If you have moved on from the glitch and sense dumped a bunch of time into the game so you don’t want to restart, there may be some work around.

The docks are the East Empire Company. You have to pick the lock on the outside. It took me a while to find the Grotto. You want to make sure to loot the map from the dock office before going into the grotto because Delvin wants it. Lockpicking is a good thing once in the grotto so bring picks and maybe potions or items to make it easier.

General quest outline

If you go to the door of the East Empire Company, pick it, and make your way to the grotto you might be able to salvage this. The link looks like it gives a console command to be used in the grotto that may work if you are on PC.

If not there is a second video that shows the Argonian’s “glitched” location. You do not have to kill anyone in the warehouse, but you still have to find the grotto and clear it out (read kill every bandit in the place)

Here is a walkthrough video. Of what should have happened. Not my video, apologies for the narrator.

Now here is a video of someone finding the Argonian in his bugged location. It states :

This is how you fix the bug when you’re told to shadow Gulum-Ei and he can’t be found. Go down to the docks, enter the East Empire Company Warehouse and kill everyone. THen go down the ramp underwater and into the secret cave. Kill
everyone there too until the mission objective changes into “Confront Gulum-Ei”. Then follow the video.[/quote]

Hope this helps.

^^^ @ RobertA

I made some progress here, thank you. I cleared out the Grotto and got the quest to change to “Confront Gulum-Ei”. I couldn’t find him anywhere in the Grotto and the quest marker is telling me to go outside, so I tried the glitch in video 2. I got it to work and I’m wandering around purgatory down here, but he is not underwater like he is in the video. The quest marker is telling me he is in the middle of the mountain that Solitude sits on.

I am assuming you are on xbox or PS3. If you are playing the PC version the console command at the wiki I linked might be worth a shot. I have it for xbox and thankfully did not have this glitch.

Here is a different video. This one looks like he is in the mountain. Also, note that the guy uses the whirlwind sprint shout (you get this from the main quest line if you have not yet) and health potions because he appears to be taking damage.

See if this works for you.

Robert A

EDTA: This video also assumes you have cleared out the grotto.

Finally got some real time to sit down with Skyrim with semester being over… so worth the wait.

fui deixar meu brother jogar skyrim e deixei ele dar new game pra experimentar, ao invés de foder meus saves fuderosos, achando que essa BOSTA DE SKYRIM NÃO IRIA COMER TODOS MEUS SAVES QUE ESTAVAM DEVIDAMENTE SEPARADOS!

EU NÃO QUERO MAIS VIVER NESSE MUNDO

So i decided to show SKYRIM to a friend of mine and let him play new game to try, as i didn’t want him messing with my awesome character and stuff, but i didn’t know skyrim would eat up all my save games that i thought would be safely separated.(FUCK YOU PS3)

I don’t want to live on this world anymore!!!

i guess i never liked being an awesome two-handed warrior lvl 25, with hundreds of misc quests done, i guess i’ll just play with a fucking rogue =(

@Kaiser same thing happened to me man, and I’m on the PC. So can’t blame the ps3!

Heres to re-rolling…

x3

Although I moved some of my earlier saves to another folder as backup… Almost worse to have to go through some of the more tedious parts of the game (like power leveling smithing again)

On this playthrough I’m not even going to worry about crafting… made me feel OP before (I had made the daedric set legendary enchanted my shield)

Also, fuck the imperials AND the stormcloaks this time.

SPOILER WARNING

I went imperial last time and “won the war”, it didn’t change a fucking thing.
Its annoying how people in game still complain about the war even though you end it, btw.

I think there is some more inconsistencies like that in the game
