I’m not saying there’s zero chance he won’t figure as a fill-in for Batman - sort of a Nolanfied hybrid of Azrael and Robin, but wearing the bat suit - just that there are so many versions of Batman in the toy line that spoilers would be very difficult to spot.

It’d be more telling if there was a venomed-up action figure version of Bane.

Mmmm, more Hans Zimmer.

Just booked my tickets to The Dark Knight Rises. 20th June at 7:50PM, only 18 days…

Also downloaded seasons 1-3 of Batman: The Animated Series(the one I used to watch when I was a kid and made Batman my childhood hero). Only got to watch the first 10 mins before I gotta go lift but I now remember how awesome that cartoon was. They really don’t make kid shows of that quality any more[/quote]

Where did you download them from?

There’s this bay that pirates like. Hint hint.

LOL apparently there is mass hysteria around the Bat-o-sphere. Letterman, in an interview with Anne Hathaway, said he’s seen the movie and Batman dies at the end.

Personally, it doesn’t affect anything. The spoilers will come out on the night of the release. If you don’t see it on opening night chances are you’ll find out about the ending on opening day and later.

Letterman is notorious for winding up his guests. …Why would he interview Anne Hathaway and make a point of telling her he knew that Batman died unless he was just sending up the whole non-disclosure deal that actors have to abide by?

He’s an old guy - he could have let one slip man.

Doubt it. He still trolls his guests with the vigour of a man half his age.

Roy let me take it back. The Late Show is pre recorded - no way they’d actually air it if he really slipped. And you’re right in pointing out the subtilties in letterman’s routine.

All I’m saying is that there’s a media blackout around TDKR and indeed most comic book/ event movies nowadays. Promotional duties is a misnomer because the actors aren’t allowed to answer any questions worth asking.

I’ve read a few interviews with Anne Hathaway, and the amount of “no comment”-style responses makes me wonder why they even bother turning up.

Letterman knows actors are sworn to secrecy, and he probably just made the comment to watch Anne Hathaway squirm, knowing she’d refuse to answer any questions directly and possibly make her give something away through a reaction.

I can’t say with total certainty that Bruce Wayne won’t be killed off, but I really doubt Letterman knows either way. …

And, like you said, if preview screenings at this stage weren’t protected by some sort of legal agreement to keep schtum about the plot, it would be all over the internet way before that interview aired…

Just from the trailers I wouldn’t be surprised if Batman dies and Gordon-Levitts character takes over, or Gotham starts policing itself or something. I really fucking hope Batman doesn’t die.

from listening to the soundtrack and reading the title tracks I’ve pieced together what I would kinda expect to see

  1. Alfred dies, the trailers show him training after being imprisoned and that is the only thing I could imagine would enrage him enough for motivation
  2. Batman kills bane, theres a track called necessary evil just shooting in the dark
    PLUS
  3. If he does kill Bane i would really like to see batman getting arrested and everyone finding out its bruce wayne and the whole city applaud him whilst he is driven off to jail, would much prefere that to the over the top death that most of us are expecting

It would be really anti-climactic if they killed Bruce Wayne as that implies he failed to clean up Gotham in the end. Even if he does die, he has to succeed on some level. It’s the difference between sacrifice and failure. Batman fail? Not a chance.
