The Dark Knight Rises

Many fans of books and movies have a conceit that their favorite book needs to be very long…many Harry Potter fans think that the 7th book did indeed need two 2.5 hour movies.
I read those books…the last one simply did not need to be told over the course of 5 hours. Not at all.

Look at Peter Jackson’s King Kong. He felt his story was so important it needed over an hour till we even see King Kong, and that he needed to go ice skating before he climbed the Empire State Building.

I trust that Nolan will make a good movie, but I will not think that seeing the running time have a big number after it simply means “more good movie!”

The Dark Knight was long but never boring. It was 50% more good movie than they could have gotten away with. I think TDKR won’t disappoint either. Almost three hours is perfect. I’ll just have to remember not to drink too much.

i’m meant to be going on a night out the night before I go to the 8:45am showing the next day

Looks awesome, and that is a bad-ass coat Tom Hardy has.

Y’see…I don’t think that’s a good thing.

I swear that a good Batman story can be told in less time than that.
The Dark Knight was 2.5 hours. Batman Begins was 2 hours 20 min.

So I guess you’re technically right…
The Dark Knight was borderline too long, so this seems like it’s the appropriate length being 10 minutes shorter.
It’s fifteen minutes longer, Einstein.

It was late, I saw 2.5 and though it was 2 hours and 50 minutes. Oh well, people like you will bitch about anything. There really haven’t been any good batman films other than the Nolan ones so your comment still makes no sense. And if you say any of the Burton films were good you’re a dumbass.

There’s a all theater chain here in Texas that’s showing a triple feature of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Returns on opening night for like 30 bucks. Tbey sell legitimate food and alcohol as well. Some buddies and I are seriously considering it.

Haha, I’ll try bud. Just dont know if I have ten hours of movie in me. They did the same thing with the Avengers. Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Iron Man 2, The Hulk (Norton I think), Avengers. Tickets were $40 and pretty sure it came with grub and drink. Pretty cool.

Sardines blamed Tim Burton’s Batman movies for staying up too late to be able to do basic math, then hid the comment in Steel Nation’s post. Burton has a lot to answer for.

EDIT:

After a quick double check, Sardines blamed you for DB Cooper’s commemt.
