Here’s the prologue that’s being shown in select IMAX theatres. It’s not the best quality, and you may want to search out the transcript afterwards to get a better understanding of what was said. But it’s exciting nonetheless!
They’ll probably release it officially online within the next month, like they did with TDK.
The trailer is rumored to play before Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
It did, I found a low quality version of it after I made this post. It’s way shakier than the prologue piece so I really can’t get excited about it until I see it in HD

Yep. Posted about the prologue & trailer in the Geek thread
While Nolan is the only person I would trust with this job, based on the above footage I’m starting to think that this job may be just a bit too much for him.
TDK was a whole new level of awesome and it’s gonna take something really special to even come close to that movie, the pressure on him is enormous.
Again, while I trust Nolan, I still have to question the introduction of Catwoman. It seems unnecessary and likely to ruin the universe he’s created with Bruce Wayne.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Ra’s Al Ghul back in it(or Talia) but there doesn’t seem to be any mention of Liam Neeson(or at least, I haven’t seen any).

Again, kinda nervous…
Just cos there’s no Neeson doesn’t mean there’s no Ra’s’ in it though.
And this has probably been covered but I must have missed it, can anybody tell me what Gordon Levit’s role is?

I’m confused how are they going to cgi hardy if he’s sleeveless? I thought you needed some type of screen to cgi off of?
Uh, yeah, maybe 10 years ago.
Captain America is the latest sign that CGI has come a long way. They didn’t put his head on another person’s body. They reduced his own body,…and did a damn good job.
LOL that looked so ridiculous. It was probably my least favorate aspect of Captain America. If that’s where the state-of-the-art is then I really hope they don’t try anything like that. Of course, based on those screen shots of batman’s suit I’m already a little concerned…
The trailer is pretty good. You don’t want them to show too much and spoil it. Just knowing that a new trailer is out means the movie is coming closer to being done.
The new trailer looked pretty awesome for the most part, there are two things that bother me:
The football field collapsing - I assume they can improve the CGI before release, but that looked way too cheesy and implausible, especially for a Nolan film. Although it’s quite a feather in Hines Ward’s cap that not only is he a great dancer, but he can also outrun a sinkhole.
The flying machine going down the street at the end of the trailer. I don’t know if that’s supposed to be the batwing, but a spaceship-looking thing like that is too hoky and unrealistic for the direction Nolan had been going with this franchise. Maybe I’m just being too nit-picky.
I also just saw this on IMDB, which I hadn’t seen before:
“Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, the terrorist leader Bane arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to their limits, forcing its former hero Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent’s crimes.”
Sounds like a mashup of The Dark Knight Returns and Knightfall. If so, I like that idea and can see a really good story coming out of it.

For those not familiar with the comic books could you explain the story a bit more. I thought Dent died at the end of TDK. So Batman has been inactive for 8 years?

I almost felt like they showed too much. It would’ve been cool as fuck to see the field collapse, or the hovering batmobile for the first time in the flow of the movie. Guess what Nolan’s keeping out of the previews is gonna be nuts.

Btw, Prof X is the DK?

in the comics like what it seems will be in the movie, bane has been a prisoner in jail since he was a child, was a test subject for a super steroid called venom, needs it to sustain himself and his super strenght hence the mask.
hears about batman and gotham in prison decides he wants to kill him as a challenge, hes also super smart and finds out bruce wayne is batman.
escapes prison, blows open arkham asylum and prison releasing all the prisoners in hopes of wearing batman out so he can kill him.
the trailer seems to follow this plot line but im not really sure why bruce wayne is in jail in several scenes.
