The Dark Knight Rises

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE!?!?!? This thread is about one of - if not the - most anticipated sequels in the last decade and it’s somehow devolved into this ridiculous shitstorm of racial injustice, personal insults and questioning of movie critiquing ability. Basically it’s turned into everyother T-Nation thread, and that sucks.

Now, if those leaked reports are true, that sounds great. I think the casting choices are great, and I’m glad someone like Depp wasn’t brought in 'cause he’s too cartooney for Nolan’s Batman. Part of me would like to see the Joker again, but Ledger put the character so far out of the park I don’t think anyone could come close. With that, I’m sure we’ll hear of his exploits in the next film without actually seeing them/him. The Dark Knight is THE BEST movie of the last decade, and Batman Begins is top 10, so I’m pretty pumped for this flick. I have full confidence in Nolan knocking it outta the park again.

It’s not a flame war. This fucker is derailing his own thread because he made premature judgements based on trailers when he can’t properly discuss the movies he has seen. Pure and simple. He also laid into DB Cooper earlier in this thread, and he is one of the most knowledgeable movie enthusiasts on this site. Go figure. [/quote]

Bro, no need to blow DB Cooper just cuz hes “one of the most knowledgeable movie enthusiasts on this site”, i’m sure he fight his own battles.

Why haven’t you been banned for posting under multiple accounts already? You are the guy who admitted to PM’ing himself on another account to check if PMs were working. You have no business or credibility here, so fuck off.

Damn Roy, you can’t even compliment someone without catching shit.

Hell, you’re pretty damn knowledgable yourself when it comes to movies.

WWE: I guess I just blew Roy, huh? I could do a lot worse.

But…But Inception lacked character development though.

Gotta be honest, didn’t like Inception. Thought it was unnecessarilly complicated and ultimately kind of pointless. Maybe I should give it another shot. Anyway, Nolan is easily one of the better film makers of our time and he has absolutely crushed all expectations of this franchise up to this point. There’s no reason to think he won’t continue the trend.

“Complicated”???

How can you say that the movie was complicated?!?

Here’s a graph that explains everything:

Yeah , you should definitely watch it again. It has a similar structure to Following and Memento. Both were released as non-linear movies but can be seen on DVD in chronological order so you get essentially two movies in one. I’ve only seen Inception in the theater, but I can see from Nolan’s previous movies that the sequence in which we see the scenes are not necessarily how Cobb views events. There are clues that support this. His kids sound older than how he views them, and Ariadne is sent by his father -in-law to be his architect. In Greek mythology, Ariadne gave Perseus (Edit: I meant Theseus) a ball of string to find his way out of the Minotaur’s maze (look at Ellen Page’s role in the movie).

I believe that Michael Caine’s scenes are in the real world.

Blame roybot, it was my fucking thread in the first place. The mother fucker is some keyboard warrior, he felt he’s “movie knowledge” threatened so he became a little bitch. Look I liked Inception you fuck (roybot) I said if I had one flaw it would be that the side characters were not developed to my liking. Now please move on child, you obviously can’t argue movies with me.

I loved Memento. Saw it twice in the theatre and now own it. I wasn’t too “lost” during Inception, I just thought it tried too hard to be brilliant or epic and that got to me. I’ll check it out again sometime soon.

I tried to be ironic…or something.

Personally, I really liked Inception. Reading all the spoilers before I saw the movie actually helped me keep up with the story.

What I’m saying is that there’s more to it than the ‘straight’ reading. Using Memento as an example, on the DVD there’s a cut of the movie where all the scenes are placed in chronological order. Same with Following. For me Inception followed a similar structure so I believe that you can move the scenes around and get clearer answers (as with the other two).

Consider it an extension of the ‘engineering and modification of worlds’ idea set out in Inception.

I think watching Inception twice is a better way. Inception really wasn’t that tough to follow, I just think some people had problems keeping track of the rules and concept of the movie. Memento is a totally different animal, where you have to watch it on sequence to make more sense of the story.

No i said Thor would suck and you through a little bratty pussy fit. It honestly sounds like you googled inception and read all the reviews to try and come up with a sensible argument. You aren’t Chris Nolan so stop pretending like you understand his vision for the movie. From interviews he’s literally indicated nothing you have said.

And I did get an emotional response from you, you’re easier than Randman and that’s saying something. Pathetic

Would you two start a new thread for your pissing contest? This thread was pretty good before you two started this bullshit.

All these comic book movies jump all over the place as far as staying true to the original storyline is concerned…that’s why I cant seem to watch them without being disappointed.
