Don’t worry. Once filming wraps and photos of what Bane looks like start to leak and then previews start coming out, this thread will get back to being a good one.

I think it’s July 20th, 2012.

What we know for sure is: the civilian persona of Catwoman will be in the film, as will Bane.

Nolan so far has not adapted a storyline or independent graphic novel into the films. In contrast, he has taken a sideways approach with several characters (particularly Two-Face and the Crock) and their place in the Batman setting.

What we can infer: considering the director’s application of the Batman setting to film, we can reasonably assume their will be a very powerful conflict between Bane and Batman. With Ra’s, there was the conflict of ideals. With Joker, the conflict was in states of being. As was stated earlier in the thread, Bane is possibly the only villain on Batman’s intellectual AND physical level. Therefore, we can reasonably presume the conflict will be a life versus death conflict, in that Batman is what Bruce Wayne became as he was changed by crime, and Bane is the finalization of the life of his father and his mother (in this case, the mother being the prison in which he was born and raised).

Wait, when was Croc in any of the Nolan films? Is he going to be in the new one?

I’ve always liked the idea of Bane coming into the scene and temporarily paralyzing Batman, as in the comics, and Wayne passes the Batman torch to Jean-Paul Valley. Valley grows increasingly violent, abusing the power, so after a long recovery Wayne is forced to reclaim his mask.

P.S. Whatever happened with the rumors of Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Penguin?
penguin was supposed to be the asian guy
really I think bane will be used as an equal to batman physically and mentally where the other villains really weren’t
WAAAAAYY too boring and predictable. You have no future, in anything.
Your avatar makes me want to be a better man.

Also, in DB Cooper’s defense I’ll bet that one paragraph synopsis was literally made upas he typed it, not though over for a long time at all.

And finally, yeah, I’ll bet that Anne Hathaway pic has photoshopped titties.
I’m confused. That wasn’t really a synopsis, I was just pointing out a subplot I particularly liked from the comics and thought would be cool on screen.

LOl at Deebo from Friday (Tiny Lister) being referred to “big scary Con”.

That dude used to be a wrestler and is well known enough to know his name, man!

I thought Croc was born with his condition and that he was always kinda scaly/reptilian-looking. Doesn’t he have some form of atavism that he was born with and that worsens as he grows older? Which means that by the age he is in The Dark Knight, he would already look like a crocodilish-type person. What is the tattoo?

He has a skin disease…so no, I doubt they picked Tiny Lister for that because you are born with it. I applaud that poster for paying attention that closely, but Tiny had all of those tats already I do believe.

That’s the best description I had for him; I was going to drop “the guy with the Z on his head in that Hulk Hogan movie,” but my descriptor fit considering he was a head taller than the other inmates, and they looked like they might piss themselves.

I will put money down on him being Waylon Jones.

Who the fuck is Tiny Lister? I thought we were talking about Deebo in The Dark Knight. I could have sworn the credits said “Deebo as himself”.

Haha!

Bane would sooo work in this. To say that he is simply an evil version of Batman or his equal is just dumbing down both characters.

Bane is the negative image of Bruce Wayne in the sense that they were driven into direct conflict from different starting points.

Bane was literally born into crime, and Bruce Wayne lived a charmed life until his parents were killed. Crime eventually drove both men to the limits of their potential, but two men driven by fate won’t just stop and shake hands in an explosion of daisies.

It would be more ‘cling and clang’ than ‘yin and yang’.

The Dark Knight had a run time of 152 minutes, 2 hours and 32 minutes
