Tom Hardy, at supposedly 5’10", just doesn’t seem like he’s ever going to be big enough to play BANE. Maybe lots and lots of camera tricks and recharacterization is whats goign to have to end up happening (kind of like how they dumbed Bane down in Batman And Robin).
Someone said it earlier: using Bane properly would probably require 3 movies. Rise of Bane and fall of Bruce Wayne, rise of Azrael/Jean-Paul Valley and fall of Bane, and fall of Azrael/JPV and return of Bruce Wayne.
Anything short of that entire set of events is kind of pointless to bring in Bane. But what an incredible trilogy that would make.
I swear to God, I wish movies could be made for the fans, and not for the $$$.
On a different level, my spank bank is looking forward to seeing Anne Hatha-boobs in the Catwoman outfit.
I’d also like to see more Nolan Batman movies. Can’t he do one masterpiece per villain?

Also, this line is incorrect from the collider.com link from above:
"The Dark Knight gave a nod to her inclusion in the next film when Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) quips that Batmanâ??s armor â??Should do fine against cats.â??
I never really got into the comics and the graphic novels but I do know that Bane did end up turning Batman into a paraplegic. That being said, any possibility that Nolan may go in this direction somehow and have like Batman restore the faith of Gotham and then get snapped in half by Bane? Considering, Nolan said that this was going to be his last Batman film, I can see some kind of conclusion coming out of this storyline?

Yes, there’s going to be a definite conclusion. Nolan said that he’s quite excited about the ending of the film.
It involves a spinning top or some such.
But seriously, he said they had good ideas and were looking forward to wrapping the story arc up.

I think that’s a fairly ignorant comment, all of the top body builders in the world are around or under 5’10".
Tom Hardy will definitely be able to fit the bill. This is a picture of him in “Bronson”, an awesome movie that he did in 2008. If you haven’t seen it, rent it and watch it now.
Hardy was awesome in Bronson and will be awesome as Bane. After the quality work Nolan has delivered with the first two films you can trust him to bring it again for the third and final installment.

I think the real question remains to be seen… Will Bane have that sweet mustache?

Hardy put on some decent size for Bronson (that movie was like looking into the mind of a Brahma Bull while it climaxed…after a line of coke), I’m sure he’ll do the same if not more for Batman.
Wouldn’t it be awesome if the movie ended with Bane breaking Batman’s back?
ok dicks…I never said I was a fan of Robin, but one of the posters above talked about how 1 movie wouldn’t do justice to the Character of Bane because of the indepth story that he brings to Batman.
Therefor I was kinda piggybacking on that because in Knightfall (the series where Bane is first introduced) Robin plays an important part in the story.

Christ![/quote]
Nolan has already stated that there is no way in hell he’ll ever do a Batman movie with Robin in it. He isn’t making a movie version of Knightfall; he’s making his movie with his own storyline.
Here’s what will probably happen: Bane comes onto the scene early in the film, much like the Joker did. No mention of his origin, aside from maybe how it is he got his hands on the Venom. Batman is still on the run and a wanted man in Gotham. Bane wreaks havoc, Batman challenges him and is broken. Fast forward six months or whatever. Wayne is having serious doubts about whether he should or can continue as Batman.
Perhaps he’s fallen in love with Selina Kyle and this is a motivating factor for him remaining as just Wayne. But Bane is on a terror spree, unchecked. He finds out that Kyle isn’t who he thought she was, that she’s Catwoman. In a way, his identity as Batman has taken Kyle away from him, just like it took Daws away in TDK. Or perhaps Catwoman double-crosses Bane in some way and Wayne finds out.
So he comes back as Batman, realizing that THIS is who he is and that without him there is no one else to save Gotham. He faces down Bane and defeats him. Gotham realizes that Batman is not the evil vigilante that they thought he was at the end of TDK, that he is not the hero they want but the hero they need.
I’ve been a huge Batman fan for as long as I can remember, and the idea of even having Robin goes against what I always understood Batman to be. When I used to teach film, and we’d discuss adapting existing concepts to other media,I would touch on how DC comics created Robin simply to appeal to younger audiences, and ‘reach’ that part of every fan who imagines going out on patrol with the Batman, protecting the innocent, righting injustices, and essentially striking fear into the hearts of criminals everywhere.
