That’s pretty cool. I’m not aware of anything like that around here. That sounds like something I would be willing to pay extra money for. Is that common at most theaters over there?

Yup. They realized people will pay for better seating. It’s 70 seats in the area the size of a normal theater, which basically means no matter where you sit, you have a good view.

Even though I was at the front, it was the same as sitting in the middle.

More quotes!

“I believe… what doesn’t kill you simply makes you… stranger.”

“You just couldn’t let me go could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You truly are incorruptible, aren’t you? You won’t kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness, and I won’t kill you… because you’re just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever.”

“Do you wanna know why I use a knife? Guns are too quick. You can’t savor all the… little… emotions. And… you see… in their last moments… people show you who they really are. So, in a way, I know your friends better than you ever did. Would you like to know which one of them were cowards?”

"Do I really look like a man with a plan, Harvey? I don’t have a plan. The mob has plans, the cops have plans. You know what I am, Harvey? I’m a dog chasing cars. I wouldn’t know what to do if I caught one.

I just… do things. I’m a wrench in the gears. I hate plans. Yours, theirs, everyone’s. Maroni has plans. Gordon has plans. Schemers trying to control their worlds. I am not a schemer.

I show schemers how pathetic their attempts to control things really are. So when I say that what happened to you and your girlfriend wasn’t personal, you know I’m telling the truth."

“Introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I am an agent of chaos. And you know the thing about chaos, Harvey? It’s fair.”

Wow…just give away the movie, Mak. Mr. Gold Access Ticket.
I’m just amazed he can quote it so well.

I’ve seen it three times, what did you expect? I’m going next week to see it stoned.

“And I thought my jokes were bad.”

“Give me one reason why I shouldn’t have my boy here rip your head off.”

“How about a magic trick? I’m gonna make this pencil… disappear!”

(insert funniest scene in movie here)

“Ta-daa! It’s… gone!”

Speaking of comics, where would be a good place to start with Batman? I know there’s several out there, just wondering which one to read first.

Batman: Year One by Frank Miller. And read The Killing Joke too.
The Dark Knight Returns, also by Miller, is is quite an accomplishment as well, although it details the return of Batman after some time off and not his usual escapades, and it is kind of a one time story(the follow up is largely considered a disappointment)

I still like the main theme of the movie myself… Kinda the “With great power…” for the batman franchise.

“You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” which both Harvey and Batman end up doing.

Is this the longest T-Nation movie thread to date?

Do we throw a party?

This may be the last time this many people agreed on a subject.

I want a Lucius Fox tank top that reads, “No man should have this much power” on the back.

I couldn’t find a shirt that said that on these sites, but there’s cool stuff here:

A friend of mine and I had a convo about if TDK would beat Titanic for all time bragging rights. I thought maybe, but I figured it would definitely beat the second biggest, which is at 400 something. Now anything is possible.

Also, have any of you checked out how much Episode 4 would have made with the inflated prices of today? It was projected to be over 1 billion
Adjusted for inflation:

NOT adjusted:

I just saw it for the second time, and my date was equally as blown away as the rest of us. A few things: I’m all but convinced Catwoman is next in line. Think about it, Wayne loses his one love interest, they drop the obscure cat reference, Batman/Bruce Wayne is in an overly vulnerable state. Also, no way is Dent dead. They did the public eulogy so when Two-face keeps fucking shit up no one can identify him, or would ever put two and two together. I’d put money that at least Two-face and Catwoman show up in the next one along with some other villain[s]. Did anyone else notice when the Joker was playing nurse he had a Dent sticker on his apron? That was awesome. The opening scene might be my favorite of all time. Hell, this might be my favorite movie of all time.

Ramirez is still alive and possibly Maroni so it might be possible. Nolan said no previously used villain would be in future films. I think Talia Ghul, or no love interest as for villains Ra’s and more elite members of the league of shadows or some new villains or both how cool would deadshot be.

He would be perfect…but not by himself.

There is no way you wouldnt be able to tell it wasnt Harvey if you saw the good side of his face, so I do think he is dead.

I really cant think of anything besides Catwoman given the line in the movie. I listened to it again on viewing number 2 and there was absolutely NO context for it other than foreshadowing.

Well, in the comics, doesn’t Harvey walk around blatantly known as Harvey Dent, aka “Two-Face”? I mean, what a better reason than for Batman to come ‘back’ into the fray than the grieved Harvey Dent coming back and basically pissing all over the sacrifice Batman made to take the fall?

Yeah, I agree on the Catwoman thing too…it was really the only part of that movie that felt “placed”…you know, kinda how ALL of the important lines in the Star Wars prequels were there just so you’d say “Ooh, that’s talking about what happens in Episode IV!”

Found this article that kinda goes with what I said there: Movie Reviews, Trailers, Interviews, Wikis & Posters for Movies - IGN

If Dent is still alive, did Gordon have him covertly locked away in Arkham? Given TDK’s overt political overtones, the idea of a secret prisoner hidden from the world would be in line with the ethical questions raised in the second film. Having Dent escape and show the city what he’d really become would at least get Batman off the hook for the murders that he didn’t commit, but we don’t see the filmmakers bringing Dent back either. …

It WOULD tie in with the whole “terrorist” angle, and the “good guys” having too much power, and it would be a good ‘gitmo’ analogy, if they kept down that path.

Whoa whoa whoa!!

You went on a date? That’s odd.

Some comedy for you folks.

Also, go to my training log and there’s a surprise for you guys. You’ll know it when you see it. “Chicken and Beer” is the name of the log. If you haven’t seen the movie, DON’T GO!!!

YOU DA MAN!!! That is awesome!

I’m glad the bar has been raised and the potential to blow past titanic is quite possible. It sucks that it’ll be some time before another Batman begins filming but between now and then there will be at least the first movie of the Terminator trilogy out! Starring Christian Bale. I was going to write off the franchise if they had re-enlisted the T-4 actors.

Damnit… Now I have to watch them all.

I don’t buy into movie hype crap. I never, at least not in the last 30 years, get caught up in the summer block-buster craze.

I’m glad I decided to give in this time - even though I was 10 days behind he curve.

I’m not a paid writer. I am not a comic/graphic novel geek. I can’t even name all the characters in this movie. But this was one of the best movies I have ever seen.

We live 100 miles from a decent theater, and as we were driving home this afternoon, I could not stop thinking about the movie.

I read the first 6-7 pages of this thread, and would like to give my worthless opinion on a couple of issues raised about the movie.

On a certain author’s faux-artsy-fartsy bemoaning of not getting the background on Joker’s childhood:

I think it is rather obvious to a rational observer, that some people are just evil for the sake of being evil. If not a rational observer, then a person who can pay attention to Alfred saying the same thing to Batman.

On Bale’s Batman voice:

Did it bother you so much when he was speaking from the shadows? I only noticed it when I saw Bale’s mouth moving.

On Ledger’s Joker:

I have seen a bunch of movies, and have rarely seen an actor so thoroughly own a part. Then again, I am not a paid writer, nor am I a true aficionado of the cinematic arts - but the guy moved me.

On ProfX’s desire to see more graphic portrayal of the violence:

I was never left wondering what happened to the victim. To me, it was an homage to the old-school guys who could gross you out, or scare the shit out of you without having to spell it out for you. Can you honestly say the movie was lacking because we didn’t see the cell phone exploding from the guy’s chest?

Excellent movie. One of the top 3 in my book.
