I completely agree, WhiteFlash. Death or not, that was one of, if not the, best acting performances I’ve ever seen.
Someone said that it’s not hard to stand-out in a film when you’re portraying a psychotic clown. Indeed, quite true. However, I think it IS extremely hard to play a psychotic clown and not make it look ridiculous, because the premise is pretty damn ridiculous.
Heath made a psychotic sociopathic clown legitimately creepy, yet still incredibly fun to watch. That’s tough to do.
Also, and this may have been said before, but if I hadn’t known in advance that was Heath Ledger going into the movie, I honestly wouldn’t have guessed it was him. I would have had to watch the credits to see who played The Joker.
I like how they didn’t even bother with a backstory on the Joker. They just said “fuck it” and hit the ground running with the story.
All the extra gadgets were cool too, especially seeing the Batmobile transform into the Batpod. I’ll be seeing at again when I get a day off.
Who would you like to see in the 3rd and most likely closing chapter to the series (I would like to see either the Riddler,Killer Croc or possibly end it with Bane, one of Batman’s most physically imposing villians)
Great movie. Great parallels to todays world. “No one person should have this much power.” Also the keeping of the moral high ground even though the others aren’t playing by the rules. Great great great.

If they could do Azrael, that would be badass. Also, I think Bale is under contract for two more Batman films.
Edit: What I should say is that if down the line they could eventually introduce the whole Azrael/Bane story it could make a hell of a movie. There would have to be alot of character intoductions though, and I on’t know if they would do it.

Bane is too late in the series. I like him, but the villains should be villains from Batman’s early days.
Bale said no robin, and im pretty sure their is no contract but if he dosen’t come back i think their sales will be hurt alot because people are getting sick of everything changing from one movie to the next ( harry potter for example) – i work part time at a movie theater so i get to hear this shit all the time

Why would they stop at 3 movies? Bale is contractually obligated for 2 more movies, Batman is the only successful movie franchise DC has(The Watchman looks cool but its only one movie) and is by far their most popular character, maybe the 2nd most popular character ever behind Spider-Man and that is debatable. They will never stop making Batman movies in some from.
But as to who I would like to see and who there will be are 2 different things. Id like to see Bane and Mr. Freeze done practically b/c they disserve it after what Joel Schumacher did to them. I think Bane, Catwomen and Poison Ivy could work if they made them assassins coming into Gothlam to kill Batman (witch Bane was) and I think this would be the only way to introduce Salina Kyle practically if she was already “Catwomen” and didnt get her ability from licking cats.
As far as Poison Ivy, a little chemistry goes a long way. From there you would have Catwomen and Poison Ivy fighting over Batman and Catwomen saving Batman.
Like I said in a previous post I think Nolan told us that Catwomen is all but a lock for the next movie when Alfred makes his comment about cats. I think Bane is the best choice though b/c he would just destroy every thing and the ppl of Gatham couldnt help but want Batman to stop him, he is Russian after all.
Just a side peace of info, the Chinese guy was originally suppose to be The Penguin. I wish they would have left him in there as a kind of â¿¿Information brokerâ¿¿ for Batman and the bad guys and they could have used him in all the future movies

I think the sales would be hurt somewhat because, while Keaton, Clooney, and Kilmer gave it a shot, Bale is batman at this moment in time. I think if he did a 3rd and closed up this series of movies, the public would be more willing to change actors for another series of movies with a different actor/concept.
I think the brand has been set up, much like 007, that a new guy gets the role every so often so the public at large is more willing to accept the switch… Where as a movie like Harry Potter has had the same actors 5 movies running.

I dont think he agrees…you might have made him made!!!

If you do Bane, then you have to do Azrael, which would make an awesome story 'cause Batman nurses himself back to health and retakes his throne as Batman from a power crazy Azrael. If they could do this movie right it would be amazing. But, as stated there would have o be alot of new character introduction and I doubt they would do it.
Also, I just read an interview where Bale said he’s signed on for one more but won’t do it if Nolan doesn’t direct.

It would be cool to see Azrael but if Nolan has showed us anything its you dont have to be bound to the comics and you can make your own story. So I would agree that it would be cool, it would just be to much to put on screen

LoL, I was quoting what some one else had written about Bane, not the tittle of the book. NERD!!

Come on fellas, think about this. Batman Begins and Dark Knight take place during year 1 and 2 of Batman’s legacy. Bane and Azreal wouldn’t come in for at least 5 years. Robin would have to come first or at least Catwoman.
If they make a third, it should be Killer Croc or Two Face.
Two Face would make the most sense as the next villain. Someone said the whole riddle the Joker posed when he filmed himself taking care of that victim was a possible allusion to the Riddler. I don’t buy it, though.
My thoughts on the film:
Well done. I will watch it a second time to answer some questions I still have, and some questions others have brought up that I did not think about and cannot yet answer.
However, while it was good, I did feel it was slightly overhyped. I thought Heath Ledger’s performance was BETTER than the film itself, meaning it was worth watching for Heath as Joker alone.
On a technical note, I did not like how some of the dialogue was drowned out by music or background noise. Maybe the mics were placed too far from the actors during the filming, but it was an issue for sure.
And what’s up with Batman’s gutteral growling? It was too much.
I think the film would have been better if one of those ships had blown up at the end, to show that society can break down and that Batman is vulnerable - because he realizes that he cannot always save Gotham.

Again Nolan is not limited to what happens in the comics. If that where the case then Ra’s daughter could come after Batman or Ra’s might not even be dead. I dont have any doubt that we will see Two Face but im just not a Croc fan. He is just a big dumb brute and after The Dark Knight, Croc wouldnt be able to carry the movie.
Heh but we could talk ourselves into circles and it would still just be hopes and dreams to only be gowned into dust by the juggernaut that is Nolan’s boot heel. I just think Bane is the better char
