Nearly a half-century after water fluoridation became widespread, a small but growing number of medical officials and environmentalists are again raising concerns over the practice.
Recent research is suggesting that fluoride may be connected to a number of serious conditions, including the development in teenage boys of osteosarcoma, the rare bone cancer that killed Canadian icon Terry Fox, reduced intelligence levels in children, and impaired thyroid function.
In Waterdown, Ont., a suburb of Hamilton, Cindy Mayor has approached her city council and asked that it stop fluoridation for the area’s 500,000 residents. “Here we are, mass-medicating with a drug,” she says. The activist frets that fluoridation could be one reason for the growing number of people being treated for lowered thyroid hormone levels.
Why I am now officially opposed to adding fluoride to drinking water

The bottom line is that they are putting flouracylic acid not flouride into the water. Flouracylic acid is of course a run off by product of fertilizer manufacturing. It is completely detrimental to our health and anyone that knows history please chime in with the background on the dubious company that provides this service to the American people-- I.G. Farbin

If the flouracylic acid is detrimental to our health, and is in our water, I.G. Farbin are just the guys to do it, right, JTF?
Okay, I’m totally disappointed. From the title of the thread, I expected to hear a sound bite of Rummy saying, “Of course we know they don’t have any WMDs, Powell knows, Cheney knows, Hell even Bush knows. Everybody knows they aren’t there, but dammit, we need a war to get him reelected.” or a photo of a UFO over Dallas from Nov. of 1963 clearly showing the silhouette of a rifleman leaning out of one of the windows.
Instead, we get actual evidence that fluoridation of drinking water might be be a bad idea and that the positive effects might be overestimated. However, I still fail to see evidence of how the Communists or the Illuminati were involved or how it otherwise justifies saying the conspiracy nuts were right. It’s almost like when you ignore all the actual conspiracy bullshit, you guys come near to having a legitimate concern.
Besides, didn’t you guys already “win” this one? Isn’t everybody already drinking (too much) bottled water because of a massive campaign of paranoia against tap water?

Funniest post of the year.
But, obviously, the Illuminati controls the water system in every region through select, “tapped”, local Freemasons who control the drinking water supply and put flouride in it, then rely on science lab Illuminatus’ to confirm the safety of flouride while media Illuminatus’ tell us sheeple that the scientists say it’s safe which allows political Illuminatus’ to make flouride additions to water legal. In short, flouride is how they control the entire world and beyond in to the universe with the help of their Annunaki relatives.

I think what the author of the thread was trying to say is that this issue used to be in the same “establishment disbelief” category as all those other things. There are still plenty of people on this board and elsewhere that champion aspartame, agree with vaccines, think this kind of stuff is “just hippies whining”
Basically just another power grab by people that don’t give a fuck about you and your family’s health so long as profit margins rise.
It says on the side of my toothpaste tube not to eat my toothpaste. It says on the side of my mouthwash not to swallow that either. (Although it doesn’t say on the side of my floss not to eat that…)
So why would I want to drink the damn fluoride in the water I drink? I don’t even care whether it’s healthy or harmful; it just doesn’t belong.
