I think it’s just our franchises. They’re all in low income areas. I think you could assume the owners fall in the category of slum lords.
When I was in high school I worked at Burger King and I saw a manager do that. So the answer is: a douchebag.
The one I’ve been going to has been really clean, and they have had very fast service.
I do get that they are in poor areas, but that’s how BBQ originated, so if it’s good I don’t care.
I went to the only Popeyes in the state last week and they weren’t serving the sandwich, I got chicken tenders and they sucked. If the sandwich is basically that on a bun, color me unimpressed.
Chick fil a is still the only fast food chicken sandwich I’ve been impressed with.
I haven’t had anything but the sandwich so I’m not sure if it’s the same.
no the sandwhich is nothing close to the popeyes chicken in meals. Its like…hey lets serve a decetn cut of meat.
popeyes is mostly garbage, except that damn sandwich. its amazing
I’ve been meaning to post my take on this. Sandwich-to-sandwich, I’d say Chick and Pop are pretty comparable. Chick by far has the better customer experience though, in my limited sample to draw from, and the fries were a lot better too.
In all honesty, I never disliked the McChicken sandwich at McDonald’s and that bad boy was only a buck. They even had a spicy one. Add a slice of cheese and we’re back in the ballpark of the above sandwiches.
bro, no. no, just no.
had the spicy chicken deluxe from Chic-Fil-A today. it was damn good but I still give the edge to Popeyes.
The line was fucking crazy. Is the chicken sandwich taking over the burger as the default American sandwich?
OP… Why on earth would you order a chicken sandwich in Popeye’s if you can have their actual chicken with flaky biscuits instead? lol. Seems like a waste of time.
Popeye’s have better chicken than KFC in my opinion.
have you had the chicken sandwich? it’s the best thing from that place man.
Hmmm…
I guess I’ll try it. Thanks.
I think fast food is underrated. McDonald’s quarter-pounder is delicious. Greasy-delicious but delicious nonetheless.
many times i have went though popeyes and just got biscuits and red beans and rice. good stuff.
oh and honey packets lol
I grew up on Popeye’s since around 1974. I remember being home from school sick one day and my mom brought home chicken from this new chicken place: Popeye’s. It was spicy delicious for sure. Damn near burned my mouth. You could see the flakes of red pepper. It was my favorite chicken place for many years. And you’d see the owner, Al Copeland, around town. He had his own float in Mardi Gras parades and an elaborate Christmas display in front of his house that wasn’t far from where I lived. As an adult I moved away and Popeye’s weren’t as common where I lived. Then Al lost the business in the Church’s debacle. I just seems it’s never been the same since. The ones in Colorado aren’t worth going to. I stop in sometimes when I’m visiting back home but even there, though better than Colorado, it’s nothing like it used to be. When I heard about the chicken sandwiches I figured I’d give them a try. On my first couple of attempts they were sold out. I finally got one when they brought them back. I got a spicy and my wife got the regular. Then we cut them in half and tried each kind. I was not impressed. I have to give the win to Chick-fil-a. I take the pickles off either way but everything about Chick-fil-a was better. Location (Chick-fil-a is in my neighborhood, Popeye’s is across town), atmosphere (Popeye’s always seems a bit seedy here while Chick-fil-a always has such a friendly, wholesome atmosphere), taste and freshness. Maybe that last one isn’t really fair. Since Chick-fil-a is just down the street it’s always fresh when I get it home. Since Popeye’s is across town it was a bit cold and soggy by the time I got back to the house but I sure as heck wasn’t going to sit there and eat it in Popeye’s (see my seedy comment). I’ll stick with Chick-fil-a.
I think taken the pickles off should be a crime
If this doesn’t scream obesity epidemic then I don’t know what does. Introducing KFC’s entry to the battle.
Oh, that inspires ambivalence.
It certainly is pretty!
Yes, the integration of donuts with food has started in Asia … I can’t imagine the mix of the tastes.
