Haha, I know my rap. I go to to the hood plenty enough to know what my boys listen to. Lloyd and Jada are garbage. T.I. is decent. Nas and Lupe are good, but not better. I’m still waiting for a legit list.
umm are you fucking kidding me jada and nas arent better than lil wayne? ok lupe is debatable but i’ve only heard his albums not his mixtapes and his stuff seems to have substance and has potential too have a massive andre 3000 like following, agreed on lloyd banks though as he is garbage
legit list
jay-z - do i even need to bother writing down songs? the fact lil wayne is constantly on jay-z’s nut sack should be enough for you, however ill list a couple of favourite - lucky me, beach chair, regrets, can i live, feeling it and of course dead presidents and black out
andre 3000 - go listen too outkast’s first three albums all classics, if you cant be bothered just listen to ugk’s - international players anthem and the art of story telling part 4
beanie sigel - you can actually feel the emotion he’s trying to portray on tracks favourite songs are where did you go? still got love for you, dear self, mums praying, tales of a hustler pt 1 and 2, feel it in the air, whats your life like pt 1 and 2
scarface - this guy is the god of south, t.i might be king but everyone respects and bow’s down to face. he still proved that he can put togethor a great-classic album after being in the game for so long, with not only an incredibly solid solo effort he can still put it togethor with a group, the ghetto boys. favourite songs by scarface are now i feel you, smile, the hand of a dead body, man cry, girl you know, never, my mind playing tricks on me and my mind playing tricks on me 94
z-ro - this will be a controversial one in my list but he is a rapper who can still rap and sing within in the same bar and it still sounds hot unlike weezy who shouldnt be allowed to sing because he sounds like he’s crying with a runny nose. i know alot of the times when on this board im on this guys nutsack but he has produced an incredible amount of material thats pretty good and talk’s about real things he isnt all about i’ve got million and millions of dollars and my group are the hardest drug dealers out there and we’ve made it,
he talks about how he’s trying to get money, how he cant hold down a job and how his friends treat him, also when he gets on tracks with his cousin trae you know your going to have some classic material. Also he has a massive following down south and he even had 50 shook when he was in Houston. favourite tracks are look what you did to me, guerilla till i die, speak on it, one deep, T.H.U.G, platinum, tell me what you see, i miss my dawgs, let me live my life
wu-tang clan - even after the death of ODB when the group reformed like voltron it got everyone to take notice, you have members who have consistently dropped sick albums throughout a career over a decade long for example ghostface killah and gza. Even though there last album wasnt there best it still had some incredibly good songs on there, each member has managed to drop atleast one classic album while members like ghostface have arguably released multiple classic albums.
there influence in the game is undeniable and if you havent taken the time to check out their catalogue your opinions on rap arent valid in the slightest favourite tracks are triumph, when the heart gently weeps, life changes, the whole 36 chambers album
there you go 5 rappers/groups that are better than wayne with examples of songs of why they are better. just for kicks ill add 5 more rappers with one song why they are better
styles p - leave a message
juelz santana - the second coming(weezy jacked his entire style)
trae - smile
talib kweli - ms hill
joe budden - stained[/quote]
Completely agree.
I was going to throw Hova on my list but if he said that Wayne was better than him my head would literally explode. Also definitely agree with Talib, was going to throw him on but couldn’t think of which song I would list…I like ms. hill…maybe even more or less. I also agree with beanz and scarface, but didn’t think he’d have heard of them.
Hell I’d even add eminem to that list, and I HATED his last couple cds. Pick a track off the slim shady LP…rock bottom, if I had a million where he’s pouring his heart out. Still don’t give a fuck, just don’t give a fuck.
now if you excuse me I’m going to go listen to Lollipop and slit my fucking wrists
