For some reason my brain doesn’t think, “Let’s eat some more vegetables and a little extra chicken” when I can afford to eat more. It pushes me towards snacks like a PB&J or a bagel or just all out gluttony.
Peanut butter sandwiches are what get me. Growing up, pretty much only ate cereal, peanut butter sandwiches, eggs, and some other things here and there. Part of it was due to finances but it set my palate for the rest of my life apparently. I don’t crave candy bars, just PB&J’s with a big glass of milk to wash it down.
My neighbor was the same way. He’s eat two PBJ sandwiches every single day for lunch. I don’t think I’ve had one in 10+ years. Hmmm. Maybe today for lunch
Love PB myself. HEB has some fresh ground honey roasted peanut butter that is awesome. Do you have HEBs in your part of Texas?
I mean…fiber from bread, fat from nuts, and jelly’s basically fruit. I think the argument could be made that’s it’s a health food!

Woke at 174.4
Guess eating not so clean on the weekend is adding a little weight… or at least water. We’ll see what happens as the week goes on. Today’s a little crazy so hoping I can squeak in a session. If not I’ll just adjust my week by one day.
PT right now and then taking my mom downtown for cataract surgery. If we’re back early enough I’ll do chest and triceps before work at 345.
Had a turkey egg and cheese bagel for breakfast and man was it good! On week three of test and eq. No noticeable changes so far but both are pretty long esters so they should both start kicking a bit more round week 4-5. Hopefully this weight gain will continue slow and steady. Started 2/10 at 168.8 and am at 174.4, so about 5 1/2 lbs so far. I think my goal will be to get up to 185 and then dial it down to trying to maintain 178-180 going forward. We’ll see. Just don’t want to continue to yo-yo from 165-180 anymore.
No HEB here ![]()
Another reason to visit Austin! LOL

Weights still going in the right direction. Yesterday’s workout was short but good. Did two supersets with chest and one with triceps. Bout 30 minutes in all but a really solid pump. Moms cataract surgery went well so that’s good.
Today will be lesss rushed and should be able to get a good back sesh in.
What’s your favorite exercise bot back? Getting a little stuck in a rut.
Foods on track today and should have 1000 calories down before 10am. Thinking like 3200 is about right for now.
Overall feeling pretty good today.
I’m in the same boat, I’m going to maintain at or above 180 for a long time and hopefully my body may except being that weight!
Our jelly is fruit. It’s “organic” but it actually only has four ingredients and I mostly understand what they all are. I could eat it with a spoon. The problem is that the macro breakdown is horrible if you care about protein. My high school lunch was two PB&Js and that’s when I learned to put PB on both slices of bread and the jelly in the middle. It prevents the jelly from soaking into the bread. And now my sandwiches have more calories. My PB&J runs around 550 calories.

I’m enjoying Meadows Rows. They’re new to me so call them a novelty. I tried them with the landmine like he does but I actually like them more with a dumbbell. I also use a bench to brace myself now. It’s just a DB row where you drive your elbow up and out so that it’s perpendicular to your torso instead of running parallel with it. It’s supposed to hit the upper/mid back more. If you try them then make to sure to lower the weight in a manner that stretches the rhomboids (little muscles connecting scapula to spine).
Ya’ll are talking about my 10th grade weight!
And I’m probably stuck at your 8th grade height lol
Looked these up and they look interesting. Most were done with lifting a barbell by one side but I see how it could easily be done with a dumbbell or cable. I’ll give it a shot today. Thanks man
The first couple times I did them was with the barbell. It’s usually attached to the landmine. I found the dumbbells to be more free in their range of motion which benefits my shoulders.
Lol, I was a 120lb fully grown adult. I’ve had to fight for that extra 60lb and my body doesn’t want it!
I was always super skinny too, but the last year my ‘set point’ has bumped from about 77 to 81
Seemed to happen after the tnation challenge when I got lean as fuck down to low 70s…my body rebounded really well and stayed there
Yeah you’re smashing it buddy, you and them big ol’ legs.
Hahaha 90% of my mass is in my legs
I think I graduated high school at like 125. Wh knows… Maybe one day I’ll see 200 on the scale. Probably when I’m in my 60s and softer lol
I like meadows rows in any old form. Its not a primary though. Its great for contraction and volume. I prefer weighted pull ups personally.
