And then you have weirdos like me that are at *18 but not gaining weight. If only I could get over my carb-phobia I’m certain the scale would be moving at less than that.
I’m actually eating really low right now. Probably in the 1800-2000 calorie range. Here’s what I’ve been doing
Meal 1 (sometimes) 1/2 cup whites, 1 egg, 1/2 cup oats, t pieces of turkey bacon
Meal 2 - 6 oz fat free cottage cheese, 2 oz oat/PB/sugar free chocolate chip mix, 3 chopped strawberries, 1/4 cup grape nuts
Meal 3 - protein shake
Meal 4 - 4 oz red/sweet potatoes 6 oz turkey sausage and chicken, 2 oz zucchini, 3 oz green beans
Meal 5 - 4 oz white rice, 6 oz chicken, 2 oz zucchini, 3 oz green beans
Meal 6 - 3 oz riced broccoli, 6 oz chicken, 2 oz zucchini
Meal 7 - protein shake.
I don’t feel too hungry throughout the day at all, and get to eat quite frequently. Maybe give it a try for a few days and see what you think?

What do the macros end up being on that? Also, why so few strawberries? It’s such a watery berry, so that’s like… 12 calories. Meanwhile, a serving I think is 13-15 strawberries, coming in at a crazy 50 calories.

The reason for so few strawberries is that I mix all that up into a parfait more or less. When I chop up the strawberries 3 just seems about right for the mixture. No real thought behind it.
This has actually been my experience, too. Unfortunately, my happy place (set point) is with a slightly soft physique. Not horrible, but nothing like Jack here. My T-ransformation entry is actually pretty close to my “normal” weight. I’d be able to accept it better if I carried more mass in my chest and shoulders. ![]()
I’d need to go back and look at your training log but why don’t you just make those a priority ? I know your shoulders jacked but are there shoulder movements that don’t bother you? For example when mine is hurting OHP is really rough but front delt raises and lateral raises are fine. Why not a do a daily dose of lateral raises and feet elevated pushups. Might really help the areas you want to improve
My physical therapist shut me down. I can do legs, back, and physical therapy exercises.

read this and it made me think of The Ronnie coleman film and where Kevin Levrone is talking about him drinking vodka with Ronnie the night before a show and trying to get him to chill out a bit. Next day Ronnie comes in the best shape and blows everyone away.
How were the vodka gains for you.??

Up some from yesterday but I was probably dehydrated anyways… on the fence about training today. Might hit biceps and back but I’ve got a lot of chores to attend to. We’re renovating our laundry room into a more functional space for my wife to use for both laundry and her crafts. She likes to make t shirts, stickers, and all sorts of other things that she in turn sells for a little extra money. I’m motivated to get it done so the clutter can live in there and not in our bedroom or on the kitchen table lol.
Think that’s about it for today. Gonna finish my latte and then get going on being productive
@jackolee did you ever start carb cycling? I remember you reading up on it a while back.
Ummm… yeah was a failed attempt. I just hated the low carb days so much lol. With no real reason to stay Comp ready I just went back to my usual. Will probably implement it once contest prep begins again.
I tried it for about a day, too. Awful. I could do regular carbs and high carbs, though.
Although Contest prep is pretty much all low carb days for the last four weeks… ![]()

Dude it’s funny how we compare ourselves and are always our own worst critics. I look at that photo and see a monster! Vascular, legs look on point too! Remind me of your height and weight… looks to me that unless you are wanting to jump on stage youve nailed the “make all my friends jealous” physique for sure ![]()

But for real… the only critique I would have is work on how you flex your abs. My trainer really helped me learn to flex them and pull them in at the same time. Definitely can help with the v taper.
Awesome thank you. I intend on hiring a coach within the next few weeks to coach me into competition. I have been talking with one for a few weeks now. It should be a learning experience this year.
Where are you in your training right now - cutting, hypertrophy, maintenance? Have you taken anything besides your TRT doses for the past year?
