So I went I received my MRI report and just as I suspected an ACL tear and a meniscus tear. I also had my consult with the general surgeon for my hernia repair. He’s planning on doing it laparoscopically going in through my belly button, and a small incision on either side of the abdomen. He was ok with having the ACL and hernia done at the same time as long as the orthopedic surgeon would agree as well.
I have an apt with the orthopedic doc on Friday so hopefully I can convince him to do it! That would be way better than going under twice in my opinion. Let’s hope he’s ok with it.
Today workout was chest and triceps. I kept the rest to 60 seconds this time and did four exercises for each muscle group as usual. Was a good session. Nothing special but solid.
Nutritions been on point and even though my weight is holding pretty steady around 170 I’m feeling and looking considerably leaner so that’s a win.
Recovery might be a little hard though. I think this will be a problem: imagine trying to walk on one leg and not allowed to brace your core lol. Let’s hope they’re really good friends even with the anesthesiologist. Might increase the chances of them letting it be done at the same time
Hernia doc said I should be feeling pretty good from the hernia surgery even in as little as 3 days and able to do everything except lift in 10. I’d rather have it suck for a week or two than have to do it twice.
Feeling really pretty lean this morning. Looking back at pre contest pictures I feel like I’m pretty close to the same level of lean I was at 165. Hopefully that means I e put on 3-5 lbs of muscle since then.

Gonna incorporate drop sets on the last set so should be a total suck fest lol.
Been married (second time) now going on 14 years next April. It’s not always easy but keeping Christ at the center of your relationship will prove invaluable.
We had the damn popcorn ceilings over the whole house. I scraped them and retextured. I feel your pain man. Hell I think it was more like 100 hours lol
Well yesterday was a crazy day… still working on the punch list with odds and ends with our building renovation. These contractors sure aren’t detail people lol.
While running errands a lady pulled out right in front me and ended up not quite stopping. She got some bumper prints on her door and no damage to my truck. Still rather annoying.
Training was late and squashed into about 35 minutes. Tried to channel my aggravations to throw around a little more weight lol.
Today’s shoulders… plan on getting a good 90 minute session in today. Meals prepped for the day, and it’s date night tonight so that’ll probably mean fajitas. Gonna do whiskey and water not a margarita this time… (hopefully)
I’ve come to like this very much. My summer time cocktail is vodka tonic (I make a pitcher of this mixed with fresh limes and lemons and diet tonic for pool parties). Super refreshing but still has a kick. But I like whiskey and water in the winter. Somewhere on the innerweb, there is a whole thing about how whiskey is MEANT to be drank with water to open the flavors of the whiskey.
Pleased with that after date night and drinks last night. Real test on nutrition will be traveling next week for thanksgiving. Tomorrow’s my ortho appt to y’all about surgery options.
Seem to be stalling out on the weight but that’s ok. Was simply trying to dial it on before the holidays and visually I feel like I’ve done it. Hopefully I’ll make it to 165 but if not no big deal.
Today’s gonna be a second chest and triceps day, after I have my spot with the ortho for my knee. Really hoping he’ll agree to sharing the surgery with the hernia doc. Wish me luck
