Great pics Jack.
Looks like a killer holiday.
I’ll second Simo and say that back pic is great.
… well the pain is almost nothing, but the swelling is expanding and now it’s really red. Ugh… to the Urgent care I go. Gonna have to fess up to taking my daughters penicillin. Hope beyond hope they don’t want to lance it!
Just close your eyes and get it over with mate.
If it’s that swollen and painful then cutting it will be a relief.
No lancing it. They think it’s just muscular inflammation because of the infection. They say it’s MERSA and are putting me on much stronger antibiotics
That sounds like some bad stuff.
On the topic of TRT injections, have you heard of Bio T? A co-worker of mine is on it. He said they make an incision in the glute/hip area and then inject pellets under the skin. He said they’re like bird shot. It lasts for about six months and his T levels don’t rise and fall like it can with your type of TRT.
The downside is that you can’t do much with your lower body for a week after the procedure.
You have to go under the knife every 6 months?
The way I understand it is that they make an incision for the injection. It’s not really a needle.
I’ve had this done. They hit you with a local, make a small incision, and inject pellets that look like rice grains. Use a butterfly band aid on you and send you off. You are limited in your activity for a week or so. One or 2 of my pellets came out of the incision. I switched to injections not long after
How do they know it’s MRSA? I’ve had MRSA before and they need to run a culture to tell if it is or not. MRSA is a methicillin-resistant staph infection, so it would make sense if the penicillin wasn’t working. You’ll need to be on Keflex or Sulfa. If you take Sulfa, monitor yourself for hives and allergic reactions. My wife had a HORRIBLE reaction to sulfa and was nearly hospitalized because of it.
I’m not sure how they knew. They looked at how large the bump was and the area of red had gone from about two inches across to covering most of my hip and upper leg in a day. They drew a line around the red area and I have to go back today. Dr put me on sulfameth and cephalexin. Red seems to be a little less this morning but it hurts more now.
I’ve read a lot about the pellets, creams, and injections. From TRT forums it seems that most guys prefer shots so that’s the route I went. This is the first problem I’ve had in two years. Probably has something to do with getting right into a swimsuit, sweat, ocean water, hot tub etc.
Yup, sulfa is the go-to for MRSA and they’re likely treating it as though it were because MRSA can be seriously harmful if it gets into the bloodstream. It’ll clear up on sulfa, just watch for allergies like I said.
Thanks Flap. I took a dose last night and again this morning and seem to be ok. I’m one of those individuals who have never had a reaction to a damn thing in my life. Mosquitos don’t give me a bump, ants don’t give me a bump. I could get all up in poison ivy and be fine.
That’s part of why this whole red infection thing freaks me out a bit. Never had anything like this in my life.
Only issue I have is the fact that I’ve never been the best pill taker. These things are like trying to swallow half of my finger and I have to take 6 per day. Oh well I’m getting them down
Just open up your throat and let em slide on down the hatch.
It’s pretty childish, but taking them with a spoonful of apple sauce was the only way I could do it when I was younger.
It’s not an issue with swallowing it, I just have a really bad gag reflex so if the capsule touches my throat too much or in the wrong place I gag and have to do it again. Only six more days at least lol
Well the red is gone, the antibiotics give me the runs, the bump is still there, but I think I’m on the mend!. Glad to be out of the woods and will be cleaning the hell out of my skin before and after shots from now on

I’m on a gel, I cannot recommend the experience. I’d prefer frequent injections but the only alternative available to me is IM-Nebido shots and I’m not sure what that’ll do to the glutes over the decades I have left of my life.
