The Breakfast Sandwich and Burrito Bulk - Jackolee

I agree but deadlifts are like a drug to me. I freaking love them and the way they make me feel.

The nutrition book I’m reading is doing a good job of reminding me about things I’ve forgotten as well as teaching me some tips that make sense.

If you’re not hungry for breakfast then it’s highly possible that you ate too much in the evening. I guess waking up hungry is a good thing.

Absolutely. Definately good to wake up hungry

you have to remember, the vast majority of the articles and advice given out on this site is NOT geared towards guys at a high enough level to step on stage. I didn’t see anything that I found objectionable in terms of his training. It’s actually pretty much exactly what I’d expect. Traditional bodybuilder stuff, relatively high volume. All of that stuff is (relatively) universal in the world of competitive bodybuilding. You won’t see me advising people to do routines like this, because I’m rarely, if ever, giving advice to guys getting on stage.

@flipcollar makes a lot of sense, thank you :+1:

Jack your gym looks like a hotel gym, awesome! Looks like you have a beautiful home too, although I could be projecting because it’s still 25* here :stuck_out_tongue:

Woke 170.8

Went out to dinner last night so blew the last meal of the day. Scale doesn’t reflect that though.

Morning cardio is 20 minutes on the recumbent bike. Fasted

Legs and shoulders
Weighted lunges
Leg press
Hack squat
Leg extensions
Hamstring curls
Weighted calves
Squats
Dead’s

Going to do the squats and dead’s last this time. Might regret this decision but thought I’d mix it up.

Afternoon
Shoulders
Shoulder press
Arnold press
Neutral grip shoulder press
Lateral raises
Front dumbbell raises
Band pulls parts
Single arm rear felt pulls
Face pulls

“Homework”
6sets of Chins
6 sets of laterals
6 sets of pushups
These are going to be my new daily conditioning areas of focus.

I really like this idea and approach. I need to dedicate some thought to making it work.

Yeah my trainer has me do this. It helped so much with last development that I’m adding in delt and chest as well. At competition time my shoulder to waist ratio was 51.5 to 30 inches so waist is roughly 58% of shoulder width. I’d like to get this as close to 50% as possible. I don’t think 60 inch shoulders are possible for me, but I might be able to get the waist down to 28 and the shoulders up to 56 eventually. That would be awesome!

Looks like a long day at the gym. I’m beginning to see that some of your weekdays are like mine with little to no work. It’s nice but working weekends is starting to get old for me.

I found myself wondering what kind of job I could get at the Y yesterday. I worked there for a bit in college and they had some full time spots that made about $35k a year. If I could make $50k then I might seriously consider a career change. But in reality I doubt they’d hire someone outside the company for their good spots.

Which career would make you happier?

My schedule is crazy. I work a lot of evenings. Monday 2-9, Tuesday 8:30-11:30 and 2-8
Wednesday 11:30-12:30 and 2:30-7, Thursday 930-130 and 3:30-8, and Friday 2-7. When we have competition it’s satue and Sunday as well but that’s only like once or twice a month when we’re in season. I like it this way though. I can do things like train in the midday and can get the kids from schools too. It works for us. My wife coaches our girls gymnastics team and both our girls are working out in the evenings so I get plenty of family time at work lol.

That’s a lot of evenings and split shifts there. Do you find it hard doing anything away from work?

Funky schedule man, I may have missed it but have you said in the past what your occupation is?

I’ve been with this company for 18 years so no not really. We’re very honor system on time off. Pretty much if I need to take of and can get coverage for my coaching hours I can do it as long as we’re not in a pinch with staff.

I also get 5 weeks paid leave along with 5 sick days, and two personal days and the occasional holiday.

Sometimes it’s a grind but I love it
