The Breakfast Sandwich and Burrito Bulk - Jackolee

I still eat chicken. I’m just not eating a lot of it at the moment. I found that I can get 40 lbs of chicken breast for $140 locally. It has no hormones or additives and it’s raised humanely (at least that’s what the store says).

The breasts are less than half the size of what I get in the store and there’s barely any fluid on the baking sheet when I take them out of the oven. It’s crazy how different they are.

I get a discount and I figured they will be $3.41 per pound for me. I get them for $1.88 per pound at Sam’s but I prefer to buy responsibly raised meats. I think I’ll end up paying the extra money soon. I’m putting it off because my 1/3 beef should be done soon and that’ll cost me about $600-700.

The rest of the professional photos came in today. My back and lats have always been my weak areas and I was pretty pleased with how the cut turned out. Finally showing some v taper

Man, that’s phenomenal how you can see the anatomy of your back!

Photo #2 shows your obliques well too!

Nice work! I know you’re going to do it again. You’ve got a taste now!

For sure. Gonna cultivate as much mass as possible now through the end of the year and then shred. Hopefully stagexweight will be 10-15 lbs heavier next year

You displayed the ultimate discipline by continuing your cut for as long as you did, but do you feel like you’ll shoot for perhaps a percentage point higher in BF next year? The guy who beat you looked great and was huge, but was absolutely not conditioned as well as you were, and I really felt like you looked best in terms of size AND conditioning 2-3 weeks out from your show. I’m just interested to know if you think it’s possible to cut slightly too much.

Definately a possibility in these amateur shows. At the pro level everyone is shredded but carrying a ton of mass too. Next show I’m still gonna shred but hopefully come in with more mass as well. I think another 10-15 lbs could do a lot on my small frame.

For me it was an awesome challenge fighting off those last few pounds.

Hell yeah, the idea that you know you can push yourself that far is amazing! Now you can strategize without it being just an excuse to not go that extra mile.

I also didn’t run any kind of cutting cycle. I’m sure if I had done that I could have come in a little leaner amd bigger

Before I ask my question, I just want to make it absolutely clear that I absolutely DO NOT think jack is doing something wrong, or that I’m smarter than he is.

My question is: why is it that your training seems to look like the exact opposite of what is recommended to many trainees?

My interpretation is:

  • most reccomendations are for beginners, who may benefit more from “basics” (?)
  • most general reccomendations are based in fads and/or are not really that great

I’d love to hear your thoughts, and the thoughts of anyone else who cares to chime in.

Woke 165.4

Up a little and that’s just what I’m looking for. Some slow steady growth. On my last labs my RBC count and HCT we’re getting a little high. This can be a problem when on TRT. I went in to donate a double red blood cell donation. Was a little nervous that they’d turn me down because my cell count would be too high but o was good to go. 1/2 hour hooked up to this crazy machine that pulls your blood, takes out the RBC’s and then puts it back in alongxwoth some anticoagulant. Pretty interesting experience actually.

Back and bicep workout was on point and the pump was intense. Chad to cut a couple of bicep excercises out due to time constraints.

Todays a rest day, but not really. I’ll have my athletes at competition from 7:30 this morning (now) to around 9 tonight and then a 45 minute drive home. Hopefully everyone does well.

I’m not sure I understand your question specifically… are you suggesting that it seems that my workouts and selections of exercises are geared towards beginners and/or a poor selection of exercises? No offense taken just want to fully understand.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve never been one to follow programming very well. I like to hit each muscle group from a variety of angles, hit it hard, go to failure as often as possible, and repeat as often as my body will allow me to. That’s really it. Put in the work, eat to recover, and listen to my body.

Can you elaborate at all on what you specifically want to know?

I suppose the discrepancies I see are:

  1. very high net volume
  2. Very high number of exercises

Oh, that basically answered my question :joy:

Yeah I’m a big believer in doing what works for you. My focus is hypertrophy, and my body seems to react better to volume than heavy weight. I’m sure that’s not the case for everyone, but when I go to heavy I tend to have joint issues. If I were 25 it would probably be different lol

Fair enough, thank you very much for your response

Man… today kicked my ass mentally, physically, and every which way imaginable. I’m a pretty positive stable dude. I don’t struggle with depression, and have a generally optimistic outlook on life, but once in a while I have one of “those” days. Today was that day.

14 hrs of competition didn’t help. I was just off all day. Woke up feeling tired, ate like crap at the meet, and was just irritable and lacking my normal confidence… oh well there’s always tomorrow. I decided to stop at the local Mexican restaurant bar on the way home and have a top shelf margarita. Gonna sleep well tonight.

I hate feeling off.

Am I seeing wrong, or did you get a top shelf margarita and then go and ruin it by getting it blended? :stuck_out_tongue:

This place has the best frozen margaritas anywhere. Being in Texas that is saying something!

And by top shelf I mean a kick ass frozen margarita with a shot of patron and grand mariner on top

I understand all the words you’re using, but they don’t make any sense to me when used together…
