The Biggest Scam of the 21th Century

BULLSHIT.I am actively involved in the socialist movement in Ireland and believe me,hearing this shit is one of the things that pisses us off more than anything else.It is a FACT that there is enough rice, wheat and corn in the world to give everyone, yes everyone,3,000 calories a day.And that’s before meat, dairy and other products. It’s the wastage and over-consumption of food by the North that causes people to starve to death on a daily basis.

Think about it.How can you make such a ludicrous claim when child and adult obesity levels are at an ALL TIME HIGH in every single developed country on earth??Capitalism and the greed it encourages is the problem, not the amount of people in the world.Get real.

Yeah people are losing/lost their jobs. The ones that are putting in effort to be better in the field with laid off are going to look better than those that are sitting back blaming the economy for their situation.

How is this not common sense?

Stop whining about wasting your time getting a degree and now you “cant” get a job.

I don’t have a degree and I’m a commissioned sales person in the mortgage industry. I bring in five fucking figures a month. I also lose five figures a month in deals that fall through, regulation changes, and borrowers that are morons.

For example, just this week, the FBI raided Taylor Bean and shut them down. I have six loans there. I just lost about $50,000 in gross commissions. But that’s ok because I can always earn more!

Last month it was APB that got out of wholesale - Lost about $40,000 there…

And don’t think that I have this shit easy. I work a MINIMUM of 12 hours a day. I bust my ass. Because I want it and I believe in myself. I don’t have an employer holding me back and telling me what I’m worth. I know what I’m worth, and the buck stops here. I sink or swim based on my own merit.

Get into the mortgage industry. People will ALWAYS buy and sell real estate. Just make sure that they are working with you and not someone else! How do we do this? Sales and Marketing! You guys have finance degrees, I don’t - you could blow my socks off if you marketed yourself correctly. You could steal all my clients. But you won’t.

I know that if I want 15 closed loans a month, I have to have about 25 full loan applications, which means I need about 40 appointments, which means I need to make about 200 phone calls/visits to my database and I need to send out about 5000 pieces of direct mail so that I get between a 5% and 8% response rate. In most cases, the leads are weak, but I get ten or so qualified people a month that way. The rest are from Realtor / past client referrals.

Or get into internet marketing! Any asshole can put up a website and sell shit (we are on one!). Figure out a need that people have and sell them a solution to their problem. IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE!!! The gov’t and Media do all the work for you by making people feel inadequate in their own skin. They will buy shit to feel good. They may as well buy it from you!

I think I laid this out earlier in another post, but it bears repeating here - Study these five areas:

The English Language, Communication, Sales, Marketing, and Public Speaking.

Quit bitching that the big, bad world isn’t giving you a job. Lift your skirt, grab your balls and go out and create some fucking opportunity for your selves! YOU are responsible for YOUR life!

Best of luck!

I would say petroleum! College is also way overpriced…

i definitely do not agree with you, OP. i got my undergrad in elementary education, got a job right away making about 40k my first year w/ a summer just recently off. as well, i’m now starting my masters, and after about 1.5 yrs from now plan on immediately starting up on my PhD in elementary ed.

yes, it’s only 40k approx right now and for the next few years, but think of my options…i’ll move from about 37/40k to 44-47k after my masters, then after my PhD around 50-58k. From there, i could choose to be a principal for a few years, making 70-80k. from there, i could teach distance learning college classes in the summer on top of being a principal if i so choose for the 70-80k principal job and prob. about 40k for teaching college classes.

Then once i’m around maybe 50, I can have my own office back at the college i went to, teaching maybe 1-3 days a week college kids the knowledge i have about the profession i just worked in for the past 25 some years, making 80-100k.

not only this, but i’ve determined you can NEVER put a price on intellect knowledge. there’s something about digging deeper into your education that will help you in every aspect of life, and can never be traded in for anything in life. i’d rather have a gigantic brain than gigantic muscles. that’s all, don’t judge my grammar in this post for my teaching/writing skills, i’m just lazy right now, heh.

How are you all having trouble paying off a 25k loan? That’s a crappy new car loan man!

I encourage your faith in your beliefs but that is not what I’m talking about. OF course more developed countries hoard food and resources its human nature. But I’m not talking about the Billions that are on the planet now. I’m talking what if there was WORLD peace. Think if there really was NO Disease and man just lived. We could not handle it. Over population would eventually lead to riots and then war.

Think of all the people that passed in just the Major wars alone. Now if each person just had one child and times that by the generations. War and Disease as disgusting as it is and How I truly wish it was not true will be with us as long as man walks this earth.

And I truly hope if not in my lifetime then someday SOMEONE or EVERYONE proves me wrong.

Lol at war being avoidable. Everyone can’t agree on everything! War is a symptom of the human condition.

Actually, socialism is the biggest scam of the 21st, 20th, and 19th centuries. Taking from those that work and giving to those that don’t/can’t/wont work is a huge crock of shit. Capitalism rewards success. Socialism breeds laziness and complacency and leads to huge drains on the economy. True, the north wastes a large amount of food, but they also produce most of it. The creation of the welfare state helped collapse Rome, look what it can do for your country! If everyone just takes and takes without putting anything back in, what do you have left?

A nation strong enough to give its people everything they want is also strong enough to take everything away -T. Jefferson.

I’m gonna chime in on this because I also have a finance degree. What a worthless piece of paper. When I was a junior the opportunities were endless. Then, about 4 months before I graduated, everything went to shit in the financial world. Entry level jobs became jobs with 5 yrs required experience and such. I got tired of jumping from sales job to sales job (mostly Loan Officer stuff), and decided to wait out the storm in grad school. So I’m getting my MBA regardless of my lack of work experience. If anything, it may save me some time in the future when an MBA may be required for a promotion. Plus, I’m considering specializing my MBA in supply-chain management which seems to be the only safe bet in business schools nowadays.
Good move. Opportunities will start coming back and you will be ready. Employers will take you over other guys who have just been sitting on their asses complaining about no jobs.

Hold up. If you think its ok to use them then why not in sports? I know its off topic sorry
Because if an average joe wants to take then to be bad ass, that’s his choice and nobody elses business. If a pro athlete is taking them then he’s forcing others to take them as well or they won’t be able to compete. If PED’s are not allowed in sports the the athletes who don’t want to take them don’t have to. That’s the way it should be.

Again, no one is saying that you shouldn’t be trying to better yourself. It’s doubtful that someone that has taken the initiative to get a degree is going to stagnate in a warehouse.

Maybe that is part of why the economy is in the state it’s in, we have beancounters doing the hiring.
