The Best Recovery Supplements

Hello all. I am currently training 5-6 days a week. Doing Crossfit 3x a week and heavy lifts 2-3 days a week. I am just wondering what you guys/gals are using for recovery supplements.

Surge!

I second Surge.

Waixymaize, then Protein/Leucine/Glutamine is also good.

Another one for Surge.

BCAA creatine.

Another Surge fan here.

I hate doing hard workouts without it since I don’t recover as quickly.

Completely different.

What you posted looks more like a standard MRP.

Is this myoplex duluxe?
Surge is used post workout ONLY.(or peri)
The above contains slow acting carbs and proteins unsuitable post workout.

yes that is Myoplex Deluxe. I guess from what you guys say I should try Surge post workout and use the myoplex as a meal on the go. Now…what flavor? I have heard opinions on all. I have all choc shakes right now. Something new would be nice.

Yes you are correct. With Surge go with original.
Myoplexz duluxe is awfully expensive(in UK). Consider switching to Metabolic Drive Complete, it doesn’t come in sachets if that’s going to be a problem. Taste is better than myoplex, all flavours are good IMO.

Creatine is really cheap, if you don’t already take it consider it.

what does the original taste like?

Do a search on Favorite Surge flavors. Chocolate seems to be popular (its my favorite). I’ve never tried the original flavor, but I’ve read that it taste like angel food cake.

Angel food cake.

It’s delicious.

For recovery; I eat a lot and sleep a lot.

Even the Surge guys here will say that proper amounts of food and rest > Surge.

But Surge is great. Yum.

Fish oil also; helps with inflammation.

No one in this thread has argued these points.

The OP’s question was about recovery “supplements.”

I like ZMA +melatonin b4 bed. I know if i dont get a good DEEP night’s sleep the day will suck.

Surge + BCAA’s works really well for recovery. Also 1/2 serving Surge during workout + BCAA’s works well for strength and aids in recovery too.

The Surge original has been ordered…along with some ZMA for bedtime. Any specific brand of BCAA’s recommended?

I just use Surge. Awesome. I only train 3x per week, but on my days after lifting im not really that sore, so it works.

Surge chocolate > any other flavor
