I’m watching the Witcher rn having come off playing the Witcher 3 and expansions earlier this year. Not an entirely positive experience comparing to the game at least which is a high standard. I’m enjoying the Geralt portions but everyone else I couldn’t give a shit like their parts have no soul.
Boredom is shitty. I reckon for me gym is a big part of life but it’s still only a part. My gym performance probably goes better for switching out of gym mode and doing other things until it’s time to lift again.
The way its presented is awkward, they jump on the timeline too much without notations. big expositions dumps early on while still leaving out key details. I still enjoyed it, have struggled with the games because of the gameplay/combat. Gonna try again soon, just redownloaded it.
It would help if I had work or school to keep me busy some of the time. But I went from all 3 busy schedule to having to find a way to kill 8 days with none of it.
I have been nitpicking the crap out of my next training block too. New ideas keep popping hp too lol
Apparently was based on some short stories and they had the damn author too but didn’t pull it off well. The timeline jumps all over the place at different rates between character plot lines. So far I’m not feeling Yen. Not even any kinda direction of character development. Nothing from Ciri. Show doesn’t present who she is and is journeying to become at all.
Games pretty easy lol. Death March is just roll all over the place and spam Quen. Ez. Gets easier the further one progresses through the game you go.
Im not gonna tell you what to do with your life but what has worked for me is chucking a bunch of time and effort into relationships and career/life gains. That’s a lot already. I feel like there’s always something to do toward me these. The process and outcomes fulfil me. So much to do in the gym and outside
A lot of it was from the first book, The Last Wish, which is just a collection of stories. Which then got adapted as the first game. They recently patched up with the author after squabbling for years because the author took a shit deal originally because he didn’t think the games would work out like they did. The season closes really strong imo
Yeah I need to improve on other aspects of my life. Been working on improving interpersonal skills, because so long I was reclusive as hell and it makes reaching out and shit hard. I think I just need to get out more, because these last few year have been work, school, lift, sleep; not a whole lot else.
Ive grabbed most of the back story off the wiki because I can the arsed reading lol. Show isn’t really a surprise just weird. Hope the books weren’t a chronologically clusterfuck also.
I need to finish reading the first book lol. I am terrible about starting books and not finishing them. I am like halfway through it. Apparently its a little messy for the books. Since it was originally short stories printed in a magazine which was then compiled into the first two books, then became a more cohesive saga/story from the 3rd book on.
Just finished season 1. It’s aight. 6/10 maybe 7 because I like the Witcher 3
That’s fair lol I am easy to please so its like a 7 or 8 for me

Went to my college gym tonight since I wanted to go on the treadmill for some steady state cardio work. 30 minutes of Treadmill LISS, ending with a short jog. Used the track setting and upped the incline each lap that passed.

Did 7 then counted to 10, breathe, 3 reps, repeat.

Felt good to do something that felt like I applied some effort. My legs were shaking for a good bit after this. I did want to do some RDLs but my body shut that down real quick. So I just went home.

So I think I picked this up from Dave Tate or John Meadows. The band is wrapped around the back of my knee pulling it forward making knee extension at the top harder. even with really light bands I had to focus on reaching that final bit of knee extension.

Worked up to a triple, then did a drop set. Did 8 reps counted to 10, did 2, repeat 7 times. Found this to be hardest getting it off the pins but once it was off it wasn’t so bad. Kind of skewed the perceived difficulty of the set.

Farmers Carry “Speed off the Blocks” Training
Just used the empty handles and worked on being fast off the blocks (from pick through the few few strides). Did 5 picks per round and did 4 rounds. This light I doubt it going to have any meaningful training adaptations. Just doing stuff because I like to train.
Sled Drag/Push
15 minutes non-stop of pushing and dragging a 125lb sled. I originally just wanted 12 minutes to beat my old time from a couple months ago, but it wasn’t nearly as awful feeling so I decided to go til 15 minutes. Next time I do this definitely putting on more than just a plate on the sled lol.

Without the cardio before hand I could push this ALOT harder. I think next week I am going push the limit to the max.

I was planning to go higher, but I got a phone call mid set, had to stop, and by the time I got back someone else had taken the machine. Got 1 good set in so I decided to call it good.

After listening to Mike Israetel talk about people middling intensity to pump reps and what he does to get them to see the light. So my goal today was to bring the intensity to the stuff I was doing today. I feel like I got a taste today. Could definitely feel the difference in intensity from my normal hypertrophy work. Its different from lactic acid build up, the muscle felt like it was responding to training mid set. Strange feeling.
Pushups 2 x 33, x 34 rep PR
Hack squats are god tier for quads. Haven’t done them for a while though between injuring my back and focusing on posterior chain more.
Yep, that’s part of the reason I am hammering it in particular. Planning on keeping it in my training once I get back to “normal training”. It’s really nice, since I can really push myself with it and not worry as much about my upperback.
