Something hurts like fucktardation in my left hamstring, have no idea why I thought it would be a good idea to try for 3 with 605 after not pulling for 4 weeks of smolov. Stupid mistake and I am paying for it, but man did the weights fly today. My lockouts are always slow but I have never had my deadlift stall like it did today, oh well, not too concerned, I’ll take a week off of pulling and squatting heavy and do some rehab work. Happy Holidays are coming however.

Trying oly squats again because they hurt alot less for some reason, pulling comfortably from the third peg from the floor now should be good to at least qualify for nationals, this is kind of a shitty finish to a really really good training cycle. I only need 1290 so I figure if I qualify with my openers I can just be concerned about actually putting on a real show at nationals. Openers should be 405-425 315-325 and 545-565 depending on how everything feels. While I am no longer anything like confident in 1500 I do think I’ll still be able to do it for nationals maybe plus some pounds.

Total now will probably be more like 1350-1400 tops. Could be worse, could have been a bad tear instead of whatever it is, but I see no value in getting hurt at this comp, so I’ll deal with the sub-par results. Setting my sights on rehab work and what comes after the meet.

The actual collegiate raw nationals competition is August 29th

The qualifier which requires 1290 to qualify for my weight class for the above is January 29th

Both are in Scranton Pennsylvania and should bring out an awesome collection of lifters

*Edit, this is wrong stuff, those were geared numbers that are retardedly low all i needed was a raw total at all in a meet, hit 1375 so would have qualified in gear, will be competing as a 275 raw in August, probably at 260ish

New training stuff will be running modified coan again on Tuesday (fewer speed sets, more pure glute work) next week or the week after if all goes well (going to 661 coming off of the hamstring/adductor tear), easing back into squat and running widowmakers and high rep rack pulls on alternating Fridays (Widowmakers are 20 rep “breathing” squats with 12-15 rep straight reps max) the rack pulls will be sets of 20 from just below the knee, they’ve always given me a ton of added mass and made my balls heavier by a few grams. Pressing will be the Coan bench routine with a few minor changes on mondays, thursdays will be alternate pressing with whatever feels weak, lockout, paused work chain work, shoulders etc. Weekends will be recovery and or hill sprints or prowler now that one is readily available. I feel great about the training cycle to come, happy about what could have been a better but could have been a much worse performance and bulking until the snow is gone.
Wednesdays will remain bullshit and recovery day as well.
