I never drink ACV, but it has turned out to be the best topical treatment for seborrheic dermatitis that I’ve found yet - better than the topical treatments prescribed by my dermatologist.
The purpose of the ACV is to alkalize the body. Plain lemon juice seems to work well too. One tablespoon of lemon juice in 8 oz of unchilled water before a meal is what is usually recommended.
My sister mixes an odd concoction of lemon juice, plain unsweetened cranberry juice and ACV diluted in water, but I don’t know if that is any better.
And yes, ACV and lemon juice are acidic, but the ultimate effect after absorption and processing in the body is a net alkalizing effect. (I can’t answer why.)
Stallone swears by it, if that means anything. Unless he gets money from the ACV companies to endorse it(unlikely)
, he could be speaking from experience. He claimed it stimulates the thyroid. That was discussed before:

I love this stuff.
Fuck dilution, it tastes great.
I down a shot glass of it before carb meals, as it supposedly helps dispose of glucose.
Where you get this in capsules?
There no way i am taking this straight again, i tried it for a week but that was enough.

capsules??
Beradi recommends apple cider vinegar in his Skinny… book

I agree I have 3 spoonfulls in the am before I eat
I am going to go a full shot of that starting tomarrow
it really helps with appatite control, because I am trying to steer clear of stimulants for as long as I can,
I just feel good after drinking it
also it has been known as “sour wine” for ages.
I love it mixed with olive oil on spinach for a salad. Can you overdose on it? Cuz I do like two tablespoons of it with a tablespoon or two of olive oil for a salad dressing. Throw some stevia in there as well…

I’m tire of hearing people complain about how bad ACV tastes. IMO people who think it tastes bad have no imagination.
Do you how i get mine to taste freaking awesome??? Buy some green tea to go packets!
Pour water in a glass, splash or two of ACV and some GREEN TEA TO GO AND IT TASTS DELICIOUS! depending on what kind of green tea flavor you get, it can taste like pink lemondade or cherry!.. Makes a good tart flavor

Good idea i will try that, i was taking a few shots of ACV a few times a day and now just the smell of that thing make me gag
I can’t stand the taste, gives me an ill feeling and chills. Just plain gross.
I have found the stuff in capsules at a local store called Hi-Health. I asked on another forum if it would be the same as just drinking it and they thought probably not. So I’ve been trying to suck it down with Crystal Light, but it still sucks.
I just drink it straight. A little swig before each meal. No problem. I feel it eroding my esophagus…sweet.
I don’t have a problem with the taste…it’s only a teaspoon or so after all, but I have noticed that since I’ve been taking it (this last week) I am getting indigestion afterwards, which I’ve never suffered from before.
Any thoughts on this? I’ve been taking it neat, would mixing it with water or whatever help this?
Also have people had good results with the capsules? I eat away from home alot and carrying a glass bottle of vinegar in my bag just has accident written all over it!
I actually prefer it straight- just throw it in the back your throat and be done with it. It doesn’t get on the teeth that way. Diluting it and drinking a glass would seem to hurt the teeth more.
THAT SAID, intuitively it just seems like it’s bad for your throat and the esophagus.
You read about these chicks with eating disorders who end with serious problems with theirt teeth/throats because off all the acid.
So, while I don’t doubt it has some beneficial effects, and the taste doesn’t bother me, I’m not going to use ACV any more because of the tooth enamel and esophagus issues. It just seems like doing that daily will, over time, cause some issues.
Just my $0.02.

Don’t large amounts of acid also damage your teeth and digestive system ?
(honest question, to whomever may know if this is the case here)[/quote]
Yes. Moderate amounts of apple cider vinegar suffice for general health.
I’m not sure about the weight loss benefits, but I usually have half a shot in the morning.
Just like alcohol, toss it past your teeth and straight down.
Supposedly it is actually good for digestion in small amounts and helps prevent/shrink kidney stones. Great for overtaxed kidneys on all those heavy supp users.
It is chock full of minerals too and natural, no wondering whether or not your body absorbs them as with vitamins.
I tried this for a bit - 2 tablespoons straight, before high-carb meals - and I felt like shit. I actually had one of my worst days ever in the gym during my brief stint with this, and overall I just felt weak and tired all the time.
I think it seriously hindered with my carb digestion. I do well on a high-carb diet, and ingest lots of them to power me through my workouts. I feel fine, and my weight and strength continue to increase, so I see no reason to stop. The only time I noticed a difference was while using the ACV. Since I stopped, I’m back on track, and increasing my weights again.
On the purported insulin-blood glucose regulating effects of ACV:
I don’t feel like finding the article and you can decide not to believe me if you’d like, but I read that ACV may actually prevent the absorption of carbohydrates to some degree. Thus, (if that is true) it’s not really “regulating” blood glucose per se; it simply avoids dealing with the matter altogether.
Again, not sure if there is merit to any of this, but it certainly seemed to make a difference in my energy levels.
