when he will tell his grandkids about his life what will he say:man i was an animal,i used to eat 6 times a day, train 6 days a week,I was hardcore,no no stop do not run kids i have more to tell you…LOL

You sound like a piece of shit to me. Life is about accomplishments. Id much rather tell my grandkids about how I could bench press 400 pounds than to tell them about how i had 1000 friends.
Well Id much rather tell my grankids how i fucked 400 girls, instead of benching 400 pounds but…to each his own.
Now go to the gym and bench,I will go out have a great time and fuck a beautifu girl :))).

Your assumptions clarify your complete lack of understanding. I have competed in both bodybuilding and powerlifting - I have stepped on stage in both sports. My whole heart was into each sport…but never was I a melodramatic sissy like this dude is in his writing.

If you can’t see how fucking silly his diatribes are, there it is fairly obvious that you are one of those guys who just don’t “get it”. Precisely, you are completely uncool and lack any ability to analyze situations successfully.

Where did you get the idea that you insulted me?

Yes, that’s me. You have such a great grasp on this conversation and life in general that you completely psychoanalyzed me from my posts on this thread.

hahahah. Please. Get over yourself. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t make them a boring person.

You obviously think I’m passionate about this thread (since you believe I feel “insulted”) yet you place your values on my choice of that.

The rest of your response was blathering on about similar issues, but it’s quite obvious you just had your panties in a bunch about someone not agreeing with your analysis of the AnimalPak website, and your first assumption when you see disagreement is that you are perfect and anybody that disagrees is wrong, bad, etc. Grow the fuck up and come back to the big boys’ table when you’re ready.

dont get what? ive been reading that site for over three years now for motivation, bodybuilding, and stories about people like you, who will always have something to criticize and look for negative aspects. melodramatic sissy? hes explaining HIS feelings of what hes going through. and i, along with many others, find it motivational. “uncool”, what are you fucking five?

Oh shit dude, you’re right. I realized this while I was in the gym at lunch. I was sitting there going rock bottom on some squats and in walked Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. I started laughing at their stupid outfits, but then they started explaining their deep passion for their respective jobs. I realized I was being too hard on them and apologized.

You fucking idiot. You really think the stuff on the AnimalPak site is straight out of his training journal and 100% true? I guess you assume the pictures are all impromptu as well. It is a marketing scheme, and a silly overdramatic one at that. If you can’t tell the difference between legitimate literature and marketing hype directed towards newbies that don’t know any better, you may as well be reading Flex and enjoying the “hard core” training they have in there.

Ah. You see, I’d assumed perhaps I had insulted you because you throw insults around like they are going out of style.

It’s become clear, through this thread, which is basically dead already, that people have been talking across issues (which is pretty common and the source of much of the fun around these parts) and really don’t have much to argue about.

Insulting people and swearing doesn’t earn you a place at the big boy’s table…
vroom wrote:

Ah, so you were unclear on the definition of the word “insult”. When I throw around insults, it means I am insulting OTHER people. Check out www.dictionary.com for more help.

See, there you go; that’s what was going on. I was insulting other people, not feeling insulted myself. Nevermind the hypocrisy of the statement or the fact that you stooped to my level.

Please come back for more anytime you feel like being wrong.

But seriously, if you can’t read TC’s article about Meat and then realize how stupid the AnimalPak drivel sounds, we probably aren’t speaking the same language.

It’s just different priorities and lifestyles.

The article about Meat is also over the top, but it deals with shirking responsibilities already acquired, as opposed to a young guy without responsibilities chasing a dream.

Having a different viewpoint doesn’t mean someone is wrong.

Anyway, I don’t suppose you could leave the histrionics and chest beating out of your posts if you want to continue beating this dead horse of a thread?

so hes advertising supplements when hes talking about his training? and guess what, i do read flex…and everything else i can find that has to do with bodybuilding and nutrition: websites, library, anatomy&physiology books, kinesiology, the list keeps going. your a waste of time and your insults are pathetic.

The thread’s kinda fun, but I’m with you on the golf thing.

I love when people find their motivation like this. The power of the mind. Harnessing one’s own mental abilities in order to surpass one’s own physical limitations can be one of the greatest things a person can do for him or herself.

Some people will use the Bible and God to motivate them. Others, their loved ones. Some, financial gain. Others, a simple goal. Whatever the case, motivational self-speak can be such a powerful force for anyone. I highly recommend it for anyone.

I need to stand up and be counted about AnimalPak. How many supplement companies would help out a 52 year old guy like me in his first ever competition?
AnimalPak did

I’m proud to be wearing an Animal beanie on my photos page and yep, I do find some of their words to be very inspirational.
As a supplement, Animalpaks rule!

If someone can pull inspiration from it, I am all for it.

I think much of the debate in this thread about it is bullshit. We know that anything posted on the site will no doubt be used to help sell a product. The question is, how bad is that? Who really cares? Bad writing? Anyone who truly makes a huge physical change knows that you can not approach this as an afterthought. Your training has to become a larger priority.

If you happen to be the type of person who thinks focusing on training is somehow a negative and that we should all be getting drunk much more to compensate, why are you on this forum?

That photo above tells quite a good story. 30 year old guy spent all his money on Aminal Paks and juice, lives in a rathole apartment, never won more than $1,000 in a show, the crackwhore passed out on the bed laughed at him. He’s wondering where his leopard print baggies are. If that’s an advertisement for anything, I ain’t buying it.
The first thought that went through my head when I saw that pic was that he sure lived in a shithole.

Then I saw the chick in the bed and thought it looked like he couldn’t get it up, hence the look on his face and her thong still being on.

hahahahahahahaha this shit is great. Whoever came up with “The Journey” posts is a fucking genious…I’m laughing my ass off. Check this:

This girl I?ve been seeing, she?s been on my case about taking her out to eat. Dinner and dancing. I haven?t been with her long, but her birthday is coming up and she wants it to be special. I told her I?m dieting, but she won?t back off–she’s tough and I like that. ?Just sit there and watch me eat then,? she says. Now tell me, what the fuck is wrong with that? Am I supposed to just sit there with a grin on my face and my thumb in my ass? Anyway, I try to explain to her what dieting means, put it in terms she?d understand. I ask her why she always goes out with her bag. ?It?s got all my valuables in there.? Well, when I go out, I carry something too?a cooler and what goes in it is valuable to me. That cooler is my lifeline. When I?m out longer than two hours, I take a cooler with me. OK. Now depending on what?s she?s wearing, she?ll take one bag or another. Me? Depending on how long I?m out, I?ll take my small or large cooler."

“My girl is paying the price because of that difference? Her plans, her expectations on this night, her birthday, were swept aside? No dinner, no dancing. In fact, she had to order takeout for dinner. I offered to pay, but she wouldn?t take it. ?Fuck off, you asshole. You were supposed to take me out,? she said. Yeah, this girl?s got some fire? I like that. But all that aside, here she is, gutting it out, staying by my side. True, she?s pissed, but she?s trying to make it work.”

My sides are hurting from laughing at someone this pathetic. And can he not afford a shirt without a hole in it? hahahahaha. Oh that’s right, his only marketable skill is dancing around on stage in a thong for the pleasure of other men. He’s about one sponsorship away from being homeless. Or so they would have you believe.

This narcissist fits somewhere on the “hard core” scale between Richard Simmons and the creepy guy who just confessed to killing the Ramsey kid. There’s a difference between obsession and just not being able to handle anything more than a diet and going to the gym once a day. What a complete joke.
What a bunch of shit. It is tripe like this that gives weightlifters a bad rap.

mdragon’s post

Good post. I honestly don’t get what the big deal is either. There is this much debate because they think the writing is “bad”? Shit, you can find much worse in the daily newspaper, but I don’t hear too many people complaining to this degree. …
My daily paper sucks so much my wife hides it from me so she doesn’t have to listen to my complaints.

There also didn’t seem to be the same stigma attached back then. They may have had to deal with the “big equals dumb as shit” thing, but no one was going out of their way to label any guy with arms around 20" as being “insecure”, “overly narcissistic” or “downright flaming”. People today (the general public) actually seem to be pissed sometimes when they see a guy with more muscle than average. Where I am sure there used to be awe or wonder, now there is also plenty of pure hate and degredation. That can change just how much “fun” walking around being the biggest guy in the room can be. Anyone who doesn’t believe that can take its toll or change your mindset hasn’t dealt with it.
I totally agree with this. Even though I’m not as big as ProfX, I’m almost always the biggest guy in the room–being an academic, it’s not that hard. Everyone I meet away from campus, even guys at the gym, assume I’m a manual laborer. Students assume I’m agressive or, as happened last semester, that I’m on steroids that have “warped his brain.” Those supposedly open-minded academics assume I’m not serious about my dissertation, violent, or stupid, or in the case of some profs, all three.

Yes, the writing on the AnimalPak site is overly dramatic and not very good. But it’s also a pretty accurate reflection of the feelings of isolation and stigmatization that some of us go through in our day to day lives. I don’t think it’s cool or hardcore to live in a shack to lift all day, but I know what it’s like to be called stupid or crazy for looking like I do. I know what it’s like to have people assume that you’re stupid or crazy for caring about something besides having the most toys or being famous. And that’s a lot more important than the prose written by, or at least reflective of, some guy who may well not have had access to a real education to begin with.

God, I can relate to that! I worked in academic research for about a decade. Co-workers made fun of my eating habits (ie packing a lunch instead of eating the cafeteria shit) and time spent working out. Meanwhile, I made fun of how they’d get winded if they had to take the stairs. I was nice enough not to make fun of their heart attacks and strokes, though.

I am beginning to wonder if the people who can’t relate to that at all are really that developed to be speaking on it. Clearly, some guy who barely breaks 180lbs is going to have completely different experiences than someone over 220lbs at the same height.

People react completely different to some guy who really is big than they would someone who most can’t tell he lifts regularly in a t-shirt. Is speaking on it now considered a negative on a bodybuilding site?
