The Andrew Tate Case

You actually get it.

I know several rich people who brag a lot. And yes, they have “real” wealth. Two of them, siblings, diamond and jewelry family businessmen, are the biggest braggarts I’ve ever known.

I don’t know where this modest-by-default rich-man concept comes from. Some are modest, some aren’t. @anna_5588 @GulliverMcGee

I’ve been on a billionaires yacht (serious)

Is that wealthy enough?

Furthermore, bragging and flamboyance doesn’t make one’s wealth any less “real”.

$300 million isn’t real wealth?

At least to me and my simple tastes, $300 million would have the same effect as me being the richest person on earth. How wealthy or not someone is seems to be dependent on the things they need money for. Someone who enjoys the simple things of life can be happy and not stress about money with a fairly low net worth. That is wealthy to me.

I really like this quote by Thoreau: “A man is rich in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let alone”.

Buying a mansion or yacht, will release a huge dopamine hit. The issue is that it is so temporary. If one realizes that their happiness long term isn’t going to be improved with these things it helps let go of wanting them.

I’m assuming that you’re in the category of “wealthy”? How much does someone need to have wealth, in your eyes?

People consider me “wealthy” but I’m a bug compared to people who truly have wealth. CIO is a multibillionaire, that’s wealth.

Tate is the rube who made videos bragging about not filing taxes; unless you are a Cayman Island citizen, you’re either retarded or poor to say that.

He’s a nobody because he appeals to uneducated and unemployed losers in life no woman would touch.

He is a peasant. If he had anything worth losing he wouldn’t be posting videos online about not filing taxes. Poor rubes, they’ll fall for anything.

Your benchmark is a billion? :man_facepalming:

How low IQ do you have to be to believe that someone residing in a tax country with rendition treaties would publish online videos saying he doesn’t file taxes has any actual wealth? Really, you believe in the tooth fairy as well?

I’ve worked for/attended business meetings with several people worth somewhat more than $300 million, from American real estate developers, Gulf “royalty” to Central Asian and Russian oligarchs.

While their behavior/cultural background does vary, they all leave an very distinct impression of having money.

Speaking of Romania and Tate, there’s a Romanian mafia don/businessman/conservative politician called Gigi Becali who’s supposedly worth $500 million. I’ve been on a business meeting with him. In the first 15 minutes of seeing the man you understand that a) he’s really worth $500 million b) he’s killed a shitload of people c) you absolutely do not want to get on his bad side.

Based on videos I’ve seen, Andrew Tate does not leave that impression, but instead of the lowest rung pimp with anger issues. I think he’s a money laundering front for someone (see above), much like Dan Blitzerian.

This exact statement could be said by everyone except Musk, currently. Glad to see objective, quantifiable numbers.

I truly am amazed at either what professions people have or their upbringing. Then again, you think a guy with a moderate net worth would make online videos saying he doesn’t pay taxes. Santa is real, too.

that’s ridiculous. Of COURSE there are billionaires who brag about their wealth. There’s no one rule that governs the behavior of all billionaires, lol.

I also wonder why you think Tate doesn’t actually have a boat load of money. It’s pretty damn obvious that he does. I would guess the 300 million estimate is relatively accurate.

But maybe I’m misunderstanding you: Do you think 300 million dollars is not wealthy, or do you think Tate just isn’t worth 300m? Answering that would certainly provide clarity to the discussion.

As a side note: I highly doubt someone going by ‘Gulliver Mcgee’ on a bodybuilding forum is hobnobbing with billionaires on a regular basis, lol. Just. Sayin.

He’s avoided my question of “what is ‘wealthy’ to you”? twice over.

I find that strange as well.

Another lever puller who thinks a guy living in a tax country with treaties with other countries would post a video saying he doesn’t pay taxes. You would believe anything huh? I am a senior equity research analyst for a top 5 global asset manager; as I said, the higher ups piss the amount of money he says he doesn’t file. Lol, you people are fucking hilarious.

Wealth is having enough to not thumb your nose at tax authorities online. Lol, Jesus Christ you people are rubes.

The irony of these statements made consecutively is exceptional.
