Sexual assault and rape are not always the same thing. We know the rape capitals of the world and they arenāt in the US. I also have no idea what rape has to do with the discussion. Unless you want to argue about something we all agree is terrible.
Our punishments are too lax and not brutal enough.

When he was 9-10ā¦ his neighbours (aged 17-19) started grooming him until one day they pinned him down/tied him up and did horrible, horrible things to him (keep in mind kid was 10). The perpetrators were two boysā¦ and after that they continued doing this over the course of an entire summerā¦
He was threarened (typically pedi behaviour) but this old friend of mine eventually found the courage/bravery within him to ask the authorities for help. There were serious repercussions towards the perpetrators.
Not as much justice as I would have like to see i.e cut off testicles without anaesthesia and caulderise the wound and/or drawing and quartering lol.
But nonetheless, becuase my old friend stood up to his abusers, they are sex offenders, in prison and they canāt hurt anyone else for a long, long timeā¦ if they make it out alive from prison that is
We were close while I was still in USAā¦ my brother is still close with him. But understandably he was never the same after what happened to him.
It really traumatised him, creates lifelong issues with trust, anxiety and depression.

In what country? I wouldnāt be surprised if itās America. I believe America, generally speaking, doesnāt care about children, on an institutional basis and in regards to their future. And plenty of people who have children donāt care about themāliterally donāt care.
