The 3 Pound Burger Challenge

Eat lettuce for a few days, it expands your stomach without filling you up. Just eat a shit ton of it. And go light on red meat for about 4 days before you do it. Red meat has to rot in you stomach so it can be digested which takes up space. Chew everything a lot. And drink as little as possible. And if you can, go for the things that won’t expand and take up room in your stomach first. Like the meat and veggies, then bun and fries.

well, one thing.
oops, i see someone did already mention it (kinda)

Eat as many grapes as you can in the days leading up to your attempt. They will expand your stomach, but go through your body rather quickly so you are ready for more.

Also, eat it as fast as you can. If you too long you will start to feel satisfied and wont be hungry any more.

This is bullshit, food doesn’t rot in your stomach or intestine. Stop spreading quackery.

Professional competitive eater Sonya Thomas holds the IFOCE (International Federation of Competitive Eating) record for finishing a 9-pound Big Daddy Burger in 27 minutes (she only weighs about 98 pounds). She also holds the record for finishing 7 3/4-pound burgers in 10 minutes.

The majority of competitive eating contests are set around 10 minutes, occasionally 12 or 15 minutes. That’s definitely, as someone mentioned, a way to keep it a physical contest and not have to fight the mental “feeling full” factor.

Sorry though, I have no actual tips, just thought I’d share.

Maybe give yourself 15 minutes or so to power through it, and in your head, divide the burger into thirds and focus on getting through one-third in five minutes. I also agree with having it as the first meal after a brutal (higher volume) workout.

Pffff thats no big deal, 3 pounds whatevs.

Here in Montreal we have a restaurant called “Le Milsa” (http://www.lemilsa.com/) and it’s all you can eat meat fresh from the this Brazilian type of rotisserie. The have pork roasts, roast beef, chicken, turkey wrapped with bacon, filet mignon, sausage, lamb, sirloin, etc. These guys come around with the meat on a spit and then shave off as much as you like right at your table. It’s only $30 CAD. All you can eat salad, sweet potatoes, and these awesome mushrooms too.

I brought my food scale once for shits and giggles, polished off 1.7 kg of various types of meat.

If anyone comes to Montreal it’s a must do.
That’s a Rodizio, and they’re awesome. I been to one in Vegas. Biggest mistake ever was getting a big frozen margarita to drink. Total appetite killer.

yeah i’ve seen the hot dog eating competitions on espn. they eat something like 60 hot dogs in 12 minutes. there’s a little asian girl on there too who places in the top 5 and i think she’s about the same weight

your idea of dividing the burger into thirds sounds legit. originally i thought i was gonna take my time and pace myself but i might have to kick it into gear to get done before i feel full.

also this may be completely retarded but does anyone know if it’s possible that your stomach could have been stretched in the past and is now still capable of holding that much food?

what i mean is 3 or 4 years ago i had all you can eat buffets for every meal and i really stuffed myself everytime. something like 3 or 4 plates was completely normal. is it possible that my stomach is still stretchy like that lol.

i’m thinking no, the tissues are probably too elastic and it wouldnt much difference but i was curious what other people thought.

Your stomach shrinks just like it can stretch. I could probably get that 3lbs down right now but if I diet down, it won’t be likely. The reason is my stomach is used to very large quantities of food right now. A few months of dieting and eating much less and it will take less food to fill me up. Obviously exceptions to this are those who really are depleted as in during contest prep. Some of those guys can eat 3 entire large pizzas in one sitting as they gain 20lbs in a weekend.

Also, fairies take away girls’s farts which is why we rarely hear them rip one until they’ve known you long enough to take a shit in front of you. After that moment, the fairies stop doing pick-up service though…which is very sad.

that’s pretty much what i thought. i’ve been dieting down recently which makes me unsure about whether or not i’ll be able to eat that much food, especially the carbs. i’ve noticed everytime i don’t eat anything more than trace carbs for over a week i can’t handle them when i do. i get too full too quickly. saturday is gonna be rough

I’m going to have to second (third? fourth?) the idea of eating relatively quickly because your body takes about 20 minutes to signal being full. That’s why most diet articles suggest eating more slowly in order to prevent overeating.

Try overeating the night before to stretch it out. I’m always hungrier the morning after an enormous meal.

It takes closer to 8min for the stretch receptors to notify the brain that the stomach is full.

Pfft, no problem post workout on either back or leg day. Hold the mayo

I really wonder where the idea that food rots in your stomach came up from?
