Suit case deads / side bend up to 160# x2 ea

Tuesday
More side laterals sets of 70 today!
Floor presses 2-sets of 30 than a super wide grip set of 12.
Squats 100reps!
Wednesday
Was on a late work call, as the first hour went by, I knew this was going to interfere with lifting………..while on the call I got started-
Jefferson deads for reps-
Switched legs each set up to-
280 x10
Straps-
300 x10
310 x10
Right after my last set, the end of the call happened, thank goodness I didn’t need to talk then.
Right where I need to be, first time lifting over 300 since the 505!
2.5 dumbbell JM presses - 4-sets 15,15,15,9 maxed.
I’ve said this before, Jefferson Deadlift for reps with slightly wide stance to target legs is like the greatest movement ever! My back is absolutely incredibly stimulated without any mobility discomfort from that of pushing conventional deads.
Thursday-
Lateral raises - 65reps, 70reps.
Squats 100 reps
That was painful from the DOMS but got it done! I originally thought about 2-sets of 60-70 on the squats, but was moving good so grinded out a full 100reps. They make me sweat like crazy.
Here’s what I see with this wrestling thing-
Dude gets hit by empty can and the guy who hits him says on camera, you aren’t working it?-
now that is a plot.
Wrestlers are crazy but not dumb when it comes to their art. No way this dude is going to give himself to a green guy with no ring art time.
Perhaps he took a bad bump. The mind of these guys is sell it and finish if that happens.
Those weren’t punches, he was swinging side to side and skinning him with his wrists, he seemed to know how to work to me.
People jump in, he seems to be working it.
The ridiculously small venue is suspect. The players are playing the angle.
These guys will take real shots to sell when they are coming up, loosing a tooth or two ain’t no big deal to them.
Been lifting all weekend, none of it has been planned.
I’ve had 20 rep squat on my mind but haven’t done them yet. The lower back has been questionable so I’ve been tending to that.
Friday was EZ bar reverse curls-
This flared up my elbow tendinitis. This has been a PITA so I did some pinpointing because I’m telling ya, this not an elbow issue. This is related to my middle and ring fingers.
I took a band and started pulling it on top of my hand focusing on extensor resistance and it immediately made a world of difference. It went from a pain level of 5-6 down to a 1 in hours.
Saturday-
One arm barbell press-
Up 78 x5 ea. (1-rep PR)
Barbell curls - 30reps
Sunday-
Plate BORs-
Up to
160 x15
175 x24 (rep PR)
EZ bar standing tricep extension-
Sets of 20 up to 90# then hit 1-rep up to-
140 x2 (PR weight and reps).
I ate a bunch of grapes after the BORs and they gave me a great full body pump and power. Very interesting find!!!
Just got a bag of Dave’s everything bagels (on sale) I then went over and got a tub of everything hummus.
Half the bag of bagels and half the tub consumed with pumpkin seeds = now that is called LIVING!!!
So delicious!!!
This is not binging, I skipped my scrambled eggs for this. This is carb loading!
I can explain a good reason for everything I consume!
Continuing the wrestling talk, I find this very interesting this has happened shortly after the death of HH.
All these older guys in the business are going along with this like it was real and now I hear there is a possible event coming up with wrestlings “new” heel.
We are seeing a new thing now, well it’s not new, this is the way wrestling used to be, people thinking it’s real and really hating the heel. So wrestling has now just returned to 1970s and early 80s when southern old lady fans hated Andy K.
That business is a “boy who cried wolf” business.
I finally saw a vid of it without the punches blurred.
It’s obviously real and he was throwing Octagon holds barred type punches. And he was definitely choking.
Hey, I question everything I see, only an idiot believes everything without looking into it and I don’t take the words of a bunch of pro Wrasslers. They obviously also weren’t accurate in saying every bone in his face was broken and all his teeth were broken.
Someone tried to beat MMA to the scripted pro wrestling carny show and it backed fired, a lot of these players talk and act like thugs.
Been a rough couple of days.
I tweaked the upper trap area on that tricep extension and it was lingering around into the lat.
That’s the game bros, you can’t be a smaller version of Dick Del Hagen without dealing with this stuff.
I’ve got different types of tendinitis in both arms too, but the arms have been growing!!!
Had to be real careful the last couple days. The lat feels good now.
Floor press wide grip
25reps then 2-sets of 12 pyramid up.
EZ bar curls-
60reps, 70reps pyramid.
BLASTED!!!
Yes!!!
I didn’t think I was gonna squat today, I had no clue what I was gonna do, I was thinking, man, my back is a bit achy for a 30-rep squat……,
Thursday-
Squats-
Up to 172 x30
Yes, felt great!!!
Tricep extension pushups, feet elevated up to-
25# x10 (PR)
Friday-
Laterals
EZ One arm upright rows
Saturday-
Farmers RDL on 5” deficit ip to-
313 x10
Easier than ever. Carb Loading!!!
EZ curls-
Up to 110 x5 as strict as possible!
Interesting!
I’m hooked on their vids!
I like the pushups after everything approach, I’m going to utilize that.
That whole atmosphere makes me think of Dr. Ken hard training!
With that I’ve done a bunch of things like 100rep squats.
Tuesday-
Overhead presses via stienborn method-
Sets of 10 to the chin up to 127
142 x5 PR
147.5 x5 to the forehead!
All increases.
EZ reverse curls-
40reps, 45reps then heavy up to 90# x3
What I like about Will Tennyson is he is willing to tackle any workout. My favorite is his session at 10,000+ ft (?) at a little gym in Alma, Colorado. I would have been spitting blood.
Just got back from vacation.
Here’s some stuff I learned regarding training and eating.
This comes from an area of looking the best I can for me at this level and this age. I’m wasn’t going to strutting around the beach all day like many fantasy bodybuilders.
I was mainly going to be wearing a tight cutofff shirt, so mass and ARMS is 100 percent the goal along with as flat a midsection as possible so no gut was hanging sticking out too noticeable. In fact I learned something from this trip to apply a lot more.
I’m done with the low carb stuff. It only came in handy when my training was not in tune. Now I have my training in tune. The only thing I will not do is eat carbs before bed.
Day 1 arrived after 4pm hungry no time to lift, wife wants to get to scenery and drinks blah blah. I snuck in a quick high rep alternate curl session at the fitness center while unloading the car plus ate some Dave’s bread I had in the fanny pack!
Day 2 was another time crunch day, I was able to sneak away as I needed to make a water run and some other things. I hit a high rep lateral session and weighted tricep extension pushups with a nap snack.
I got in shoulders and arms the rest of the trip along with some wide grip supinated pushups, pull-ups and neck curls.
I ate whatever the frick I wanted to, carb city!!! I just made sure I ate a steak at dinner and little carbs. In the lifting I started off high reps to get the cardio then finished with heavier low reps.
Heaviest bell I lifted was 45s for curls. I also got in a windmill lift with a pair of 20s.
I was very happy with the way I looked. Next year I’ll be curling the 55s for the same work load.
On the way home I ate Wendy’s chicken sammich and fries then hit a 100 rep squat with 85#
Now THAT is living!
Tuesday
Jefferson deadlift/squat for reps
Switching lead leg every set-
120 x10
170 x10
220 x10
270 x10
300 x5
All DOH
Straps-
320 x10 (10# PR for 10)
Strongest ever, carbs, carbs, carbs!
Barbell curls-
60reps, 80reps.
Those Jeffersons work you in crazy ways! I feel insanely worked.
I love that I learned how to utilize carbs it’s great, they just blow your tissues up!
I saw a vid of a pro wrestler whom had a great physique and he started talking about how grapes aren’t good for your build. I totally respect this guy but he doesn’t know (well his trainer doesn’t know, cause he actually had said his trainer taught him, that was his first mistake. You should always experiment before taking the word of trainers, srs) how to use grapes and other carbs to your advantage.
I also ate seafood pasta dish!!!
That is real living, when you eat like that and use it to not only get stronger but look better.
That won’t work on the traditional bro split sets/rep program. That’s why everyone who does them can’t eat carbs for more than a day.
Gotta make my post about how great the Jefferson lift is.
Guys, I’m gonna keep saying this because young folks just don’t know what happens as you get older from always doing conventional lifting eg back squat and deadlift heavy.
There’s only a few people who do it later in life, there’s a reason for that. they are either blessed or trained very smart for an indestructible back or they took proper rest.
But most people usually say after late 40s “I don’t deadlift anymore” Being young, you think it won’t happen to you, until it does.
It’s not a natural movement, well it is, but it’s not using a fixed barbell. The body automatically shifts into an unnatural position when you lift a new weight with a fixed barbell.
Imagine lifting a branch, as the branch gets heavier, it gets longer and thicker, this actually forces the body into a natural position.
The Jefferson hit all the right areas, upper/mid traps, spinal erectors, rhomboids, hams, oh my glutes are sore right where the hams connect. But no crippling pain.
Bugz had a lady doing hack deads and she matched her best deadlift on it. She said that had she of done that conventional her lower back would be messed up for 2-weeks. I know that feeling, mine lasts for 4-weeks now that I’m older than her.
I have been reading your posts concerning the Jefferson lift. I am glad it is working for you. It is one of those lifts that has been relegated to the book shelf of time so it is good you are bringing it back.
