Miss you bro. Hanging out in the Philippines living the good life. You still running all over the country?
You still overseas Harry or back training ?
Okay, I lied. Said I’d keep up my log, I didn’t. But I have excuses. I know, excuses are like assholes, everyone has one, some just smell worse than others. Promised I’d post, went back to the Philippines, didn’t post. Partied, drank, ate exotic dishes, lounged on the beach, watched scantily clad women and didn’t post. In my defense the average internet speed in the Philippines is 2mbps and just doing my banking was an all day affair. Forgive me yet? So, I’ve basically done nothing in the lifting realm for months. I’ve swam and did scuba, a lot. Also worked out in my families arnis/escrima/kali hall, occasionally taught Kenpo and Shotokan. Lifting’s was about nil. I’m now “back in the states” and some family issues have me stuck here til around Christmas 2018. So I’ve looked at some T&F meets I can enter and lined up 5 so far for this summer. Problem. Haven’t lifted or thrown anything for 8 months. Plus, I’ve agreed to teach several advance martial classes over the next several months which will cut into my lifting /throwing time. Wife’s heading back to the Philippines without me in Mar- Apr so I can really concentrate on the training. I’ll try keeping up with the posting and reading everyone elses. Missed you.
Welcome back Harry
Thanks. I’m going to really try and keep up, for a while at least,
You still getting some throwing in.
Just a few standing throws with the shot. First meet is scheduled for may so need to start throwing a lot.
Nice to see you Mr. Sun and Fun. Sounds like you’ve been living the life. I’m sure the weights and throwing distance will come back quickly.
Nice to see you back.
Can an old dog learn new tricks? If you watch vids of some the great throwers, past, present, and future (and who doesn’t?) on YouTube you’ll probably let out a big WTF!?! To a person they bounce the weights off their chest when benching. Half use form rubber to protect their chests. Since the first time I went into the basement with my big brothers and was introduced to those 110 lb sears weight sets I was told, “Don’t bounce it. If you can’t lift it without bouncing, lower the weight.” I threw the question of the big bounces out on several throwing blogs. What ensued was lectures on cns, fast, slow twitch and hybrid, response to load, etc. Where am I going with this. Went to the gym today to restart the lifting and determined “bounce the bench”. Ain’t that easy. Ended up doing some kinda land it on the chest, do this fish flop move, lift the weight. Finally just went ahead and did my sets. Will continue to try. No matter how old we get we’re always looking for the one secret left that’ll make us better.

Nice benching for the first session back. Let us know how the body feels tomorrow ![]()
If that’s your first lifting after that layoff, we already know how you feel. Glad you’re back lifting and posting. Maybe add some “Cajun accent” in your posts?
Welcome back Harry.
Good to see you
Let’s bring it in…Group HugZ!
It’s tomorrow. Feels tight. Did some hangs and could really feel it in the chest.
Missed you, too.
Thanks. Trying to kill time for about 8 months til I get back to the Philippines.
Chest is tight today. Did some hangs, really felt the chest stretch. Jumped on the scale at the gym, 97km/215lb. Need some more meat.

Not much, feel weak and awkward on the cleans and presses. Never have gotten back what mobility I had in my left shoulder for rotating the arm backwards. Going to take a shot at front squats if I don’t crush my adam’s apple. May end up doing zerchers and leg press. Grounds soaked from lots of rain so throwings out for at least a few days. Got to head up to the indoor pool for my swimming at least for the next few months.
I love zerchers. They are a great way to get your work in.

Whole body’s tight from the last few days. Swimming at the natatorium tomorrow should loosen me up. Almost Jamesons time.
