I find I’m like this too - but you shouldn’t need the pills TBH. At least in the warrior diet philosophy you shouldn’t need to be caffeinated to be alert, since your body is directing energy that is usually spent digesting towards, um, living. That said, I drink coffee all day - mostly b/c i love it, but probably also b/c I like it as stimulant AND appetite suppressant.
Anyways, I love eating this way and I tried to go off it a few weeks ago b/c my days are so bloody long and I just couldn’t! I kinda don’t like eating during the day anymore. So weird.
And FTR, I do count calories while eating like this and 1300-1600 seems reasonable - I remember you being light on calories anyways, no? (no offense or anything)
I’m eating one meal a day. (I think that’s technically Intermittent Fasting.) My goal is just to keep it up for at least four weeks; the people in the Supplements and Nutrition forum think you’re crazy if you’re not weighing your food but I’m not screwing around with that right now. The right diet is the one you can actually stick to.
Dinner today was cheese, chicken & broccoli, kiwi slices, spinach, and 90% chocolate.
I do powercleans. Never really learned squat cleans.
I might have to take the day off (or just squeeze in a quickie in the afternoon.)
Going to see the boy this weekend. Meh, i’m a mix – on the one hand it’ll be fun, on the other hand, i have a ton of other stuff to do, and on the third hand, there’s the old specter of thwarted vanity. Cazart.
bench: 10@45, 10@65, 5@85, 5@95, 2@105, fail@115, 1@110 (Local PR!)
That is, I’ve done better in my lifetime but I spent ALL YEAR trying to break 105, so I’m celebrating.
military press: 10@45, 8@55, 3/4/3@65
pullups: 3/1/1
wide grip pullups: 5/3/3 with 25 lbs of assistance
lat raises: 3x10@12.5
bb curls: 3x8@45
overhead db carries: 6 gym lengths @27.5’s. Went up in weight and they STILL felt light. Yay.
Sounds like everything is going really well! You really seem to stick to your goals, which is admirable.
With the overhead dumbell carry, do you mean “waiter’s walks”? Tried this for the first time the other day and it was tough. Then again, the weight I picked up (not knowing how much to use) was 20kg (44lbs). That was a challenge.
Sounds like the IF experiment is working for ya. Congrats! Fantastic progress on your bench! When I read Rippetoe talk about how women sometimes only go up 2.5 pounds or less even with newbie gains, that sort of sobered me up from thinking I was going to push my max up real quick. Good progress! Take it!
I think “Waiter’s Walks” are one-armed; I’ve been doing one dumbbell in each hand. Then again, it might be a nice stabilizing challenge to do it with just one arm.
IF is going well; it’s just now starting to get easy, and eating`three times a day just would feel excessive to me now.
