The only situation i could envision where i would hit a kid is if he just did the same thing to another kid.
Sometimes, the golden rule need to be exemplified.
I hit girls on a regular basis. But only adult and consenting ones.

Texas Penal Code has this as a 5 year staute of limitations. (There is 10 year one for child abuse that results in “Serious bodily injury,” which this is not – that’s broken bones, etc.)
This happened in 2004.
It is 2011.
Nothing to do.
As an aside, the father is a prick. The daughter, however, is a complete bitch, as well. Filming it and releasing it 6 years later? They deserve each other.

If she is a bitch, I would blame the parents.
According to her, he dared her to release the tape.
Also, mother and father going through a custody battle with the younger sister.

This fucking girl has cerebral palsey, and was afraid that if she released the tape, more violence would follow. She moved out, and so now she can do it with impunity.
The lack of compassion for people on this site is stunning to me.
They deserve each other?
Fuck you.

So who is to blame Dahmer or his parents?
At what age does an individual become responsible for their actions?

No my question is in regards to individuals who do not have children of their own. They have not watched a child grow from birth to the loss of innocence. As a parent I can see when my children have grown into that age of “adulthood”.
I am not pointing fingers or making judgement in this case, nothing in life is black or white. There are always 3 sides to every story.
So my question is When does the “blame” shift from the Parent to the child?

This is truly a Prof. X bait-and-switch.
WTF?

I blame Hunger. And Dahmer is not dead he is alive and having issues with his girl friend.

Irish maybe, but you and Christine are so quick for judgement and to place blame. So I thought to ask the question.
Before you attack me, again I am just asking a question. I have 5 children ages 20-15 years old.
When they were very young they would get swats on the ass with my hand. I have not spanked my kids since then, I used other forms of punishment. However I could turn you hair grey with the trials and tribulations I have had to go through raising my kids. As a divorced father who had his children 3 days out of 7 every week, and marrying a lady with 3 kids that I have raised.
What age do you no longer blame the parents? When does an individual become responsible for their own actions?

I am quick to judgement because 1) You don’t beat children and 2) You don’t beat women. And that’s what this piece of shit did. He didn’t spank a child, he beat a girl.
This was domestic abuse, plain and simple, and has nothing to do with when an individual becomes responsible for their own actions… .I still don’t see what your little question has to do with the original storyline of this judge doing this to his daughter.
If it is totally independent of the story, you should probably start another thread, because people are going to frame your question in the context of this story, even though there isn’t a connection

Your right about the last part, I cant see video at work, so that is why not commenting on the video. So again I was not trying to make points to the video either way.
Fair enough.

My comment was flippant.
In my opinion, there is not enough evidence to verify whether or not the daughter is a bitch.
Regarding your question though Study Finds Every Style Of Parenting Produces Disturbed, Miserable Adults.
So don’t worry, whatever you are doing, you are doing it wrong. ![]()

Hell if no one will answer.
I say the kid is responsible for him/herself when they are able to go out into the world by themselves. I don’t mean getting on a school bus or hanging with friends under some form of supervision. Once a person can go and come with freedom they are taking on an adult function so they then own the weight of that resposiblity.
The question is are people teaching this to a kid by beating that ass all the way out the door. At some point a parent should be teaching a kid how to live as an adult out from the safety of the parents roof.
