It seems to me that Gels/patchs would be the obvious choice, though a weekly shot of testosterone might be cheaper and less of a nuisance?

I don’t think so. As one of the HRT guys I started with 5 grams/daily of testim and that shutdown my remaining natural production within 2-3 weeks.
I’ve never heard of anybody being able to successfully augment their own production with an external T-source. You can do it for a few days, but then you have to stop or else get shut down.

How can anyone or how can your body?
I think the first question answers with “they can, don`t know how” but I would be interested in how the body does it and why there is no way to deal with thatl.
