Well since there is no money in most of the applications why would anyone study it? ![]()
Surprisingly this seems to be the only active discussion on sleep apnea going on T-nation. I have no anxiety issues w the mask or machine, I kind of enjoy it. I am about a month in and for the most part sleeping much better.
That said I almost feel worse. Iām on an emotional roller coaster. Iāve read about taking time to catch up on sleep deficit, that my body is realizing now what good sleep is and realizing just how tired I am.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Are you on TRT? If so, dosage, time on therapy, bloodwork?
Got off for a while. Back on it now. 44mg of cypionate twice a week plus HCG and DIM. Just ordered some resveratrol as well. No recent bloodwork.
Youāll want to get blood work. How much HCG are you taking? If itās not stimulating T production, the low dose of Test Cyp isnāt going to do you much good.
Is that 44mg or 44ml of Test 200?
Itās 44ml. The Test works when I take it but Iām inconsistent, largely in part due to the fluctuating nature of my business,
And, how many mg per ml? I suspect it is 200, which means you are injecting 176 mg a week, a pretty standard dose for TRT.
This could be contributing to the emotional roller coaster.
You may also be sensitive to the test and spiking estrogen - doubtful, but possible.
Iām kind of shitty about it myself, inject E4D, 70mg (35ml), not always E4D, but shoot subq so it seems to mellow out the highs and lows.
Are you taking an AI? Do you know what your E2 is?
E2 is typically the culprit with emotional highs and lows, not the test.
Not sure if I mentioned this, but I have apnea as well. I was 210 lbs when diagnosed, non compliant with the cpap, borderline with an oral device, but have lost thirty plus pounds since then and seem to be doing okay.
For the record, T doesnāt make organs grow. There are a lot of misconceptions about this, but the bottom line is that it doesnāt. HGH does, see Barry Bonds head (he is a dickhead but I know the skull is not an organ).
Running T replacement at normal levels has no negative side effects other than testicular atrophy and sterility (pretty serious, the sterility thing). Many think it causes prostate cancer, or exacerbates it, and many think it causes heart disease. It does not cause prostate cancer, the jury is out with respect to whether it makes it worse, and it does not cause heart disease - in fact, the body composition benefits ameliorate heart disease.
I also think losing fat from TRT helps with apnea.
Just my take.
It says 200 mg/ml.
I appreciate your feedback. Iāve been on the CPAP about 4 1/2 weeks and itās a work in progress bit I think Iām on right track there.
Been in gym solid 3 weeks now, slowly building back up, and been good w diet since.
Iām sure that the overall inconsistency is an issue. FWIW Iāve had multiple episodes of depression and/or anxiety.
I am self employed, run my own law practice. Lot of ebbs and flows, hard to predict anything, and still wondering if I donāt need to change or add to my practice areas.
I also hate winter and the Holidays, but I judge High School powerlifting and love both the crew I work with and working with the kids (we arenāt supposed to coach up the kids but we do), that starts mid January and seems to carry me through until College Baseball, which is my favorite sport, and the warmer weather.
I think I am on right track just need to find a way to stay consistent.
I appreciate your feedback.
Oh, to answer your other question Iāve never had a high estrogen level when Iāve tested. Used to take anastrozole when I was w/ Renew Youth but now I am going through my MD which helps tremendously w/ the cost. He took me off the anastrazole and allowed me to take DIM instead. May add CDG?
Join the club. Check out this breathing technique, it may help.
Canāt help you with your practice, sorry. My brother is a lawyer but doesnāt practice - he owns a few businesses, has an accounting background and an LLM from NYU in Tax and Estate Planning. Consider adding an area that you are passionate about, or finding ways to volunteer that enrich you and make you happy.
Bro, weāre instant friends. Went to Surprise, AZ last February to watch my beloved Beavers play in two tournaments, great week. And of course, we went to Omaha and ran the table (1986 Grad).
With respect to apnea, howās your weight? do you smoke? Dairy? Gluten?
Iām a little wacky on the yogic lifestyle, currently getting trained to be a Kundalini teacher, and I find food to be a big part of the puzzle. Try to raise the ph of your body by eating more greens and cutting out caffeine and alcohol. Substitute chicory for coffee, and drink quality water.
Yeah, sorry for the rant.
I never had sleep apnea or major snoring issues until I started TRT. After about the second month my snoring was so bad my wife left the bedroom EVERY NIGHT. I too got one of those apps that monitors snoring and it was off the charts. In addition to the snoring Iād wake up gasping for air a few times a night too, Iāve never in my life had that happen prior to TRT.
Iāve dialed back the amount I use (for a totally different reason) and the snoring has lessened a great deal.
TRT can worsen or cause sleep apnea, you need a sleep study.
If youāre fat losing some weight can help. I agree with the sleep study route but be prepared that the end result will probably be a cpap machine. I have found a night mouthguard very effective.
Iām 5ā11" 236. Been steady on the weights for about 7 weeks and good on diet since Thanksgiving. I do not smoke. Actually gained weight (muscle) since I have been living right. Waistline slightly smaller.
Its gradually getting better but have trouble w compliance. The other night I woke up w the mask in my hand.
I love OSU. We played you in football at Jerry World 2010 and you came to the first FW regional. You beat Aggy twice.
Professionally my main practice areas are debt related. Itās already a ministry. I just want to make some more money. I do Fair Credit Reporting but one of my buddies just had an awful ruling from the 5th circuit where they denied his attorneys fees (over $100,000 between fees and hard costs) on a more technical violation, so I am not sure how much value some of my cases still have.
I just booked my trip to Phoenix where the Beavs open their season. I went last year and had a great time.Iāll get to watch four games in six days.
