i generally wear my Testosterone shirt when doing cardio because its big and comfortable to wear while doing treadmill work, this isn’t the first time I’ve worn this shirt.
Today at gym mainly from the older males while doing my cardio I could see the older men 40+ reading my shirt then either greasing me off or shaking their head in almost disappointment. Does anyone else get these kind of reactions?
I’m not complaining I just found it interesting the older males who were generally out of shape and either fat or skinny fat were the ones who had a ‘problem’ with this t-shirt.
Anyone have any interesting stories when representing T-Nation in the general public?
How much did Biotest pay you to create this thread? I never thought to buy a tee shirt until now - after seeing that it may annoy some I now want one. I’m placing a tee shirt order when my Flameout gets low again…anyone else?
Not gonna lie… Shortly after I read most of this thread I bought 2, along with Surge and Z-12. Bastard.

hahahaha.
Can we tribunal this guy from T-Nation. It seems like only moments after he posts in any thread everything goes to shit.

yea little ole me has disrupted your entire internet eutopia, lmfao.
at my college gym; no one really said anything because my weightlifting team ALL had Biotest/T-Nation shirts…about 10 of us. that and we were the ‘scary’ ones. 600lb squats, 550lb deadlifts, 400lb benches…screaming, chalk clounds, ammonia caps…that is basically how we did things; and still do (but i moved :(…)
now at my gym in MA; i’ve worn my sleeveless test shirt a bunch and yah; old people look at me like i’m a freak (but i’m not that large; yet) and one kid has came over and said…T-Nation; nice man…awesome site!
i should wear it out in public to see what i get. i’ll have to buy one and keep the sleeves on it.
live- if you’re gonna say the biggest guys never use log books, you might want to do some reading up on some of the top BBers who say they track everything.
just because many successful people don’t use one, doesn’t mean it’s not a valuable tool for some people.

Not quite how it works around here…
Fortunately Thatguy realized my attempt at humor. I was joking about Biotest paying him off mud…sorry for any confusion - the internet is infamous for this.

except A) im not tiny B) i dont use a logbook C) im not doing 1 legged jump-squat presses.
wtf is wrong with having a logbook…
theres nothing “wrong” with it.
i read this Shugart blog though…yea Shugart, and he was talking about intensity and how he kept seeing the biggest baddest motherfuckers at the gym who didnt do any fancy shit and didnt even use a logbook (crazy right?) but what they had was animal tenacity to get shit done. it was the same at my gym too, no big guy ever used a book.
the other reason is because i like to feel in touch with my body. you can feel out whats working, what isnt, and just how you should train in general. i think it puts you in a much better tune not having one, but honestly after using one for so long it got wierd not having it anymore for a little bit but then i just got used to it and i like it now. i can keep track of everything mentally and it works out just fine.
the other thing is that numbers can mess with your head. ok so maybe you didnt move up a couple reps higher this week or didnt add 5 more lbs. maybe its because youve had a stressful week or just some other minor thing like channging the order of your exercises. you may think oh no im getting weaker, im not improving, and just add more stress.
theres also only so much you can do on a day. guess what, regardless of what youre logbook said you did last week you can only go as hard today as you can and if means you arent breaking numbers then thats what it is.
just train as hard as you can everday and be honest with yourself and listen to yourself. you dont need a logbook to tell you need to train harder you should be able to gauge by your fatigue.

Well man, I do agree with most of what you had to say except even the people with iron will and animalistic intensity can have off days. And by off days I mean the intensity just isn’t there or the mindset is way off. The log book (I don’t use one I keep it all mental) might just be the kick in the ass a lot of people need to turn that inner flame into the explosive rage we can’t get enough of.
I would enjoy seeing a sales graph of T-Nation t-shirts due to this thread, I’m guessing they’ve seen quite a surge in sales. Get it, surge? I’m hilarious.
My lifts stayed the same for a long time until I started using a log book to track progress. I guess some people just feel more comfortable logging everything. Im going to buy a t-shirt eventually too.

Hahaaaa. I’m such a fucking compulsive buyer. I started off with one t-shirt, then moved to two. Then, because of the rough night’s sleep I had the night prior, I bought the Z-12, and then realized my tub of Surge was getting low. $10 turned into $100. Wtf!?
I purchased A t-shirt from Biotest after I finished my last cut. It was sort of a reward.
The thing that I love about it isn’t that it draws attention (tribal T- no one cares), but that the shirt itself is a large/tall, and tapers down to the waist. The fit is incredible. I intend to buy more just like it just for that reason.
And they’re cheap. Big/tall stores charge AT LEAST $15 for shirts that don’t taper or have such an awesome logo.

BSC?
no way theyre wicked expensive.
i train at Ballys Medford. Youd never guess it because its a Ballys but its turning more and more into a hardcore gym but itll always be a commercial gym at heart. A lot of the guys from other gyms have been leaving and coming there.
i guess theres a powerlifting gym in Everett behind some bank on Broadway. its not really any use to me though since trainers get free membership after 3 months…at least its what i heard.
