Could I benefit from TRT?
Do you have any low T symtoms?
Yes I do.
Then it’s possible. No promises.
If you’re going to a primary care doc, expect them to tell you “no” if you’re within the reference range of the lab.
Assuming standard labcorp ranges you are kissing the bottom. As @Andrewgen_Receptors stated a primary care Doc may not treat you. Any pay out of pocket men’s clinic will for sure. So… IMO I think you will see benefits, but TRT is a not a miracle cure all. What are your symptoms specifically?
An accumulation of multiple studies on low testosterone show higher risk of metabolic syndrome below 450. Cardiovascular risk before below 480 and decreased libido and vigor below 500.
Multiple studies show a 24% decreased risk of full-blown heart attack and 30% decreased risk of dying above 550. More recent studies show Free T in the top 25 percentile equals 53% decreased risk of prostate cancer and/or reoccurrence.

You’re leaving out a lot of information! Lifestyle, height, weight, diet, exercise?
6’3”. 236 pounds. Relatively active outside of my desk job. I run and lift (not heavy) 4 to 5 times a week. Diet is dialed 80% of the time, can’t rid the belly fat for the life of me though.
Drinking alcohol, even mildly can increase the sub Q layer without actually changing your weight on the scale.
A glass of wine today, will stop any fat loss for 48-72 hours. Alcohol can also lower testosterone.
I haven’t drank any alchohol for 12 years. Only drink water and coffee for the most part.
If you’re seriously considering TRT, get a baseline ferritin test. It’s not unheard of to see ferritin decline on TRT and in my case, TRT crushes it!
What does Ferritin do?
Iron status, the most reliable test.
Doctor said they like to see Free Test around 20.
My Free T @ peak is 28 ng/ dL, hormone levels decline faster due to oral T having 6 hour half-life. I feel amazing.
Maintaining a steady hormone profile on injections, 20-25 is optimal for most men, excluding outliers.
i’m 6.3 240lbs or so as of now. but since TRT + gym/diet, although haven’t lost many lbs, my body re-comped quiet significantly with BF down from 30%->25% so far and really good muscle gains (not looking into any bodybuilder type stuff, just decent muscle+toning)
44 sitting job, gym 4+biking 2days, the difference being with TRT my gym recovery is 3x better
and like most here said, most general docs are useless or put you on a shitty protocol, like mine did early on, with 100mg every 2 weeks before I switched to a TRT clinic
Go right to a qualified urologist who treats hypogonadism. Don’t waste your time.
